Bazball still lacking nuance (a brain). Just wafting at everything, no questions asked. They’ll probably do it, but just giving India unnecessarily hope.

And Bethell yesterday. Looked inexperienced and "caught in the headlights" by the occasion. Sure they'll be fine in front of 60,000 baying Aussies in Perth in a few months!

Umpires haven't been giving those all series. It's barely feathering leg. We've had much stronger shouts not given on field and then umpire's call on review.

If we lose this comes down to Brook for me , plus an honourable mention for the first innings collapse. Might seem churlish given Brook scored a century but then to keep charging down when India were totally on the ropes yesterday to the point he had a wild swipe and let go of his bat and got caught let them back in. Had he stuck around for another few overs I expect we would have won last night. And in the first innings, to be, what, about 100 for no wicket and then be all out for less than 250 was pathetic.

A bit of composure from the pair of them and this would be straightforward. Smith's shot to get out on Friday was utterly dreadful too. That India probably deserve a draw from the series is very much not the point at the moment.

India bowled so well last night before they went off for rain, it just seemed like every ball was causing problems. 35 runs looked a lot of runs the way they were steaming in.

And yet, that's down to 11 now despite the wickets.....

If I was him, I'd be pretty concerned about the impact of trying to bat and run will have on his recovery from a serious injury. And the knock on effect on the rest of his career. I may have even refused to go out to the middle.

Let’s be fair, India didn’t deserve to lose the series. For large parts, they’ve been the better team across the 5 test matches.

Still got annoyingly close to it despite collapsing twice. Siraj with the final wicket, best bowler of the series by some distance.

Shocking from England to lose from that position. Pope ain’t no captain in my opinion.
Cricket Day 5 then on 12:01 - Aug 4 with 334 views | Herbivore | Great effort from both sides. Very frustrating that England got themselves in a position to win and then seemed to lose their minds and arses. Hard to criticise Brook too much but if he sticks around until tea yesterday, the game's gone. Bethell and Smith both looked terrified and played hopelessly, Root got edgy as he started running out of partners and Bethell got the scoreboard becalmed.

Absolutely this..... no need to be doing that with them on their knees... singles all over the place... 1 a ball and its done in 10-15 overs... absolute madness to do all that hard work and chuck it away there [Post edited 4 Aug 12:09]
