Truth is not as catchy a headline “MP gives tenants 4 months notice that their lease won’t be renewed and raises rent ahead of new applications” At least that’s how I read the story. I wonder if you’d read it that way were it a Tory MP. For clarity, I’m no Tory but it does amuse me how people overlook things when it’s ’their side’. How will we ever see wealth taxes and a fairer society when the party supposedly of the working class is actually just part of the land owning, asset rich class. Huge conflict of interest and shows how out of touch they are. If you want to get rich and build up a property portfolio, go off and do it. But don’t represent us working people paying record taxes for broken public services. Going into politics shouldn’t be about power and personal enrichment. We get the politicians we deserve by waving this stuff away because of the colour of their tie.

Then further down: "The team-of-four had set off from Land's End on 25 July, headed north into the Irish Sea before bad weather forced them to stop at Milford Haven in Wales." What the hell were they doing near Yarmouth????!

Thanks for assuming my side, bit presumptuous of you. To be clear I don't align to a single party I’m afraid, have voted conservative, green, labour and Lib Dem in my lifetime, and try very hard to take emotion and political bias out of the media. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I'm not that bothered about it, I just thought it was a good example of what the OP was talking about.

But whether Labour or Tory the headline is totally wrong and misleading.

he couldn't do anything else with it being a charity, even farage might have apologised for that one! given his wealth, the scale of the gaffe and the language used, i thought a grand was pretty paltry, kind of money he could rustle up from his sofa (or the back of his tv)

"I'm going for a row in the English Channel, if I can find it." "It's that long, cold, wet thing over there, Racist Rupert." "Oh goody, I should fit right in." "Don't forget to pull the bung out of the bottom when you're half way out Racist Rupert, it will let any water that splashed into the boat run away and keep your gout-ridden tootsies dry." "Right oh!"

I mean, he could hardly carry on claiming it was a small boat crossing, could he? It would have been better if he'd got his facts right in the first place.

The team of four had set off from Land's End on 25 July, headed north into the Irish Sea before bad weather forced them to stop at Milford Haven in Wales. The team turned around and returned to Land's End and then started their challenge again in the other direction.

This is basically the politics equivalent of Paul Lambert buying supporters a beer. The worst kind of performative empty gesture carried out by an obvious fraud because the easily conned will lap it up. [Post edited 8 Aug 17:06]

lol. Lowe’s a nasty piece of work. He’s gone so far right, he’s now wanting to deport Brits if they’ve got foreign heritage. He shouldn’t be anywhere near Westminster.
