We're not in the PL and trying to get players here that are likely PL standard are more likely to go to a PL club than us .... its a difficult situation and fine line for our recruitment team to tread.... do we spend all the window chasing potentially PL standard players, NOW ( I get why), but less likely to secure them, and in the meantime miss out of very good CC players that can get us out of this division, this season. No easy answer.... |
Are the two mentioned VERY good championship players that will get teams promoted? They are decent but I don't think we're missing out. Isn't akpom better, for example? We would have had to sign them a few weeks back and then watch Brum sign Akpom. Is that a better outcome? Appreciate that Akpom still might not come, but that almost proves the point. It's a gamble, but surely worth it given where we are and need to be. |  | | |

I didn't watch the game, but the commentary and 'expert' analysis from Troy Deeney went on and on about how we were breaking the game up, not letting Brum play, trying to be bullies etc. and there was even one rant about how arrogant we were. It was a really weird listen so I turned it off at half time! |

Wrexham look a bit meat and potatos to me. Don't think they have the extra quality and x factor needed to trouble to top teams at this level...yet. Give them a 2-3 more transfer windows.
Saints look okay. Although i don't think players like Armstrong or Fraser size up to the options we or Leicester have. Downes is a class act and full expect him to do a number on us physically next week at PR. [Post edited 9 Aug 15:52]

Think Downes vs our midfield is going to be extremely difficult for us next week. I'd be happy to see Ronnie Edwards play though, he looked awful.

Wouldn't be against us using the Hackney funds to go after Downes, he's the perfect replacement for Morsy. A proper competitor.
