It's just a very unusual situation for us because we've rarely had talent in demand lately.

I'm sure we'll all get over it

If that was the case, I think KM would have been a bit more protective of him rather than hanging him out to dry by informing the press he didn't want to play.

While the club has a duty of care towards players it has to be remembered that KKc’s priority should be the welfare of the club.

His priority yesterday was winning a football match, he underachieved.

His priority today is preparing for Sunday’s game.

Togetherness has been a key factor over recent seasons. It seems to be discipating, we are in danger of falling apart at the seams.

The trouble is, have the club caused this issue, by not letting him go, trying to keep him, because in the real world we all have the right to move jobs, especially for bigger money and working at the top of your profession?

"But equally he is the one who is handsomely paid and he is showing 0 respect to KM who deserves an awful lot of it."

Salary is completely irrelevant, if mental health is the issue.

I never want to sound dismissive of mental issues here but it has been laid out very clear to us what the situation is by KM.

Omari wants a prem move and doesn't feel in the right headspace to play for us. As I said, I have a level of sympathy for him as he is probably badly advised. But equally that is just not a good enough reason to not turn up for work imo. He is at a great club, with a manager who trusts him and fans that love him with teammates who love him. Plenty of other players in the same situation who are playing.

He had a release clause negotiated in his contract that nobody met. Club cannot be fairer than that.

If they lower their asking price now, the club looks weak.

I'm reserving anything as strong as anger until (if) we find out what's actually going on. But I am disappointed at how the situation is progressing.

He won't be remembered as fondly as Delap after this, despite an arguably greater contribution.

I don't remember Delap that fondly he was all over the place chatting to other clubs whilst we were still playing games couldn't wait to leave.

Of course they are.

Both are wrong imo. What Isak is doing is much worse as well, the way his reps have been talking in the media.

I had no issue btw with Omari not playing in the pre season games, if he felt he was close to a move, I get not wanting to play in a friendly. Not ideal but its whatever. Competitive games I struggle with. Whether other players do it or not. It is not right.

Devil's advocate here. He's a young man, with a lot of pressure on him, coming from several directions. That pressure is likely to be affecting his mental health. If that is the case, then he might not feel able to do his job.
As someone who has struggled with mental health and had to have periods off work, I'm going to save judgment.
There are a lot of ruthless people in professional football and he might well be feeling overwhelmed. These young players are not prepared for so much pressure.

I’m guessing he’ll be OK once he gets a transfer.

Which is why I posted a response to Blueas down below.

He's a young lad and, according to some ITK on here, is being pressured by family members (allegedly) for a Prem move whilst wanting to stay at Town.

If there is an element of truth in this (I'm not asserting there is), you can see how this might be affecting Omari and he maybe struggling.

The reality is things are never quite as cut and dried as they might first appear.

Ultimately, I want to see the best for the Club but also the player - actually, it's one of the things that has seen the Club build bridges between the fans and the community - we generally seem to go about things in a much better way. So, if Omari needs support, then I hope we provide it - even if he does leave.

Quite simply he needs to grow a pair then doesn’t he !

McKenna says he was ill. I have no proof otherwise. Plenty of people at my workplace have been ill recently so there's something going around. I always try and see the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt. I assume your username is ironic?

I agree this isn't mental health be fine when he gets his own way like a spoil child and what was wrong with the 1970s like the person said at times you do have to grow a pair.

mckenna seemed annoyed and that's good enough for me, as he knows the players.

i'm positive towards both and will support both if they continue at the club, i just don't get why omari is getting all the flak for being honest while broady gets a free pass for very similar behaviour

if i was to criticise mckenna, i would say he should've ruled both out due to potential moves (as with baggott)

I don't think McKenna said he was ill.

"Nathan reported sick this morning, which on the day of the game is not ideal.”

McKenna says that Broadhead /reported/ sick. And the end of the sentence surely indicates that McKenna doesn't believe it any more than most of us do.
