Joe. 13:03 - Aug 15 with 2177 views | FrimleyBlue | I'd ask Phil but I know he couldn't answer if he really wanted to. But you've the ears at the club What exactly is the atmosphere. I don't want a thread to look all doom and gloomy so don't want to presume it's horrible but with all the ins outs of staff. Players etc. What it is like. Part of me feels like this is just a normal situation for relegated club the other part of me wonders if we've really fked the moral building over the past few years and were back to the beginning of KMs project rather than partway through it.

Joe. on 13:07 - Aug 15 with 2010 views | GlasgowBlue | I have zero insight but I would imagine that like most clubs in our position there will be a bit of a hangover from being relegated. It can't be much fun being outplayed and beaten every week for 8 months. Plus there have been some high profile departures like Morsy, Mas, Burges and Axel who would have been very big characters in the dressing room. It will take a few good performances and wins to get us going. Like it did Leeds a couple of years ago, who would have been promoted had they not bottled the remaining three games. I'm confident we will, be top two by the end of the season.

Joe. on 13:09 - Aug 15 with 1933 views | Horsham | I’m not Joe obviously… But you’d think the Omari and Broadhead situations have been less than ideal from a harmony perspective…now those have been resolved (or nearly resolved) at least now things are a bit more certain. That’s surely helpful.

Joe. on 13:13 - Aug 15 with 1825 views | SitfcB | I doubt much has changed with regards to the ‘group’ etc players that are here don’t need to have a problem with anything. McKenna admits we’ve had more of a turnover than expected, or wanted, but the last few weeks of the window are always a bit all over the place. Seen some saying the club is in a bad place etc but nothing like a bit of overreacting to a few players being sold and starting the season with a draw and a cup exit eh.

McKenna won’t leave his office, rocking on a chair, Ashton wanders around muttering ‘fully protected’ and O’Shea has started wearing a captain birdseye outfit and makes everyone shout ‘aye aye capt’n’

I’ve heard the players are going to set the training ground on fire and are having Blue Action make some “I don’t want to go to work today” banners for the squad. Worrying times

Like you I felt confident after Aberdeen - couple more bodies in, a few more out and the window shut, and can start to enjoy it

Do you think though we're not at the happy to stay camp or still a few who'd love to get going if they could. Other than Davis, I can't see any other prem clubs coming in for anyone, so assume everyone else is ready for the season

Every player will feel they are good enough to go back there? Surely the fact we were comfortably relegated would argue against that for those that weren’t our best performers?

They're uber confident pros who have battled massively against the odds to get where they have got to - although would feel like they are capable of doing a job at a Wolves, or a Brentford, or a promoted team in their squads

Joe. on 14:07 - Aug 15 with 612 views | Pinewoodblue | For the Bromley game we had two players, both expected to play, who wanted away. They both backed out one on medical grounds the other because he just didn’t want to play. It must have impacted on other players. Look at Chaplin’s post match comments about a lack of urgency. Hopefully we will on Sunday see signs of the togetherness we saw in our two promotion seasons. My only real concern is when the window closes we have players at the club who are outside the 25 player squad. We may end up loaning players out to non league clubs where they won’t get the experience they need to develop. KMc has crucial decisions to make.

Every is an exaggeration, I'm sure there are some who know the ceiling is probably the Championship, but other will eithers be correct (Davis, O'Shea, maybe Greaves in time, Philogene, Hirst etc) or a little deluded. I don't see our outbound business as too surprising tbh or cause for concern, I've said it all summer we're likely to lose 2 'big tickets' and the most obvious were always Omari and Delap. £67.5m in for those is about as good as we could've hoped given the release clause(s). Tuanzebe and Burgess were offered deals, we've clearly tried to keep them but haven't managed it. Morsy going was a when not if given his age and contract, maybe a little premature but I don't mind it. Broadhead's contract situation has dictated that one, its regrettable but we've got good money. The rest are fairly inconsequential. Inbound / retained wise we've kept McKenna as well as Cajuste, Davis, O'Shea, Greaves, Hirst among others where we might not have done. We've replaced Axel & Burgess with Young & Kipre who I think are excellent pick ups. We've gone relatively big on an £8m replacement for Morsy who is 6 years his junior. The rhetoric is overly negative IMO, the question now is can we go out and flex our muscle to add 2 or 3 bits or real quality and X factor in before the window closes? Presumably we've got the funds to do it, I think that recruitment is the difference between a 7.5/10 squad and a 9/10 at this level. Drop a couple of the ilk of Hackney in to the mix and it looks formidable.

And all have agents in their ears telling them they should be at that level, making excuses for them and pinning the blame elsewhere for it not working out for them last season. I know Dara's agent was doing his best to convince him he shouldn't be staying here. [Post edited 15 Aug 14:14]

Joe. on 14:16 - Aug 15 with 479 views | BloomBlue | Eddie Howe admitted yesterday that the whole Isak (on strike) situation had impacted the other players, even admitting that it has impacted recent team performances. He said, the other players have the issue of thinking is our leading scorer staying or leaving. Plus from a personal level, you build up friendships with other players, which means some players feel in a difficult position with Isak refusing now to play in the same team as them. I'm assuming it was similar at Town. Then throw in the low confidence from last season, and I'm sure its not a party atmosphere at the moment.

Not been verified by a reliable source, but apparently pepperoni may have been involved. However it is understood that reports of pineapple being linked are wide of the mark.
