I was at Hertha Berlin last weekend, for their home opener against Karlsruher. They had a flag-based tifo, and didn't let up with it for the first 5-10mins of the game, and struck up with the flags at multiple points during the game.
No complaining that people couldn't see the pitch, just wholehearted support throughout the whole 90mins. |  |

Maybe it's a by-product of the insanely cheap tickets in the 'popular ends', but it feels as if German hardcore fans see their primary role being to support the team/create an atmosphere, and watching the game comes second. | |
