We only created chances due to Southampton's mistakes, apparently. Whereas all of there's - including the goal - were down to superb sweeping play which matched the Cruyff days.

There's was down to a Davis feck up, nothing unusual there
I was feeling positive, then I watched Sky's review of the game... on 15:27 - Aug 17 with 1762 views | Nthsuffolkblue | It did feel rather like that. All of the first half and much of the second their editor had an obsession with showing Harwood-Bellis in close-up. It reduced when Dibbling came on as they focused on him as well. I like Jobi McAnuff and he speaks a lot of balanced sense but he did make that mistake and refer to us as Ipswich's Town. The other commentators said Southampton deserved their equaliser at a point where I felt the only thing they had been better than us at was getting away with repeated fouls and "earning" free kicks. Overall there was very little between the sides and a draw was probably a fair result but had that been Leeds hitting the post, shooting just over the bar, having a few headers off target, etc, Sky would have been saying how unlucky they were not to have won. Ultimately it matters little about Sky's lack of balance. We just need to win the games. Let Woolfy call out their bias at the end of a successful season.

And nothing to do with O'Shea and Johnson ball watching and letting their young striker to ghost past them totally unmarked. Ofcourse not...

Almost like we created way better chances than them in the second half.

Greaves ran to no man's land. Lost the ball and took forever to run back Davis didn't stop cross No defender jumped for the ball Keeper didn't come for the ball Many issues with the goal. Not really one person to blame.

Who gave the ball away halfway inside the opposition half? OK, he did well to get back to defend after but that was the initial issue. Who should have been marking the player who scored? It wasn't Davis. I would say Matusiwa shares as much of the blame as anyone.

It was hilarious how dismissive they were about Szmodics hitting the post. Especially as, from memory, it was down to our play rather than a Southampton error. Guess it didn't fit with the narrative.

Davis 100% bottled a 50/50 tackle, where he may have gave a free kick for booked, or dare I say won the ball, Start with him

I will have to watch that back because I didn't see anything like that. You must be referring to before the initial cross was blocked so, had he dived in and given away a free kick and been booked, you would have been criticising him for giving away a free kick in such a dangerous area for sure.

This is complete b0ll0cks. I'm just home from the game, and in real-time it never occurred to me that Davis had contributed directly to the conceded goal. Having now rewatched the goal, the Davis 'bottled 50/50' tackle is well before the phase that actually led up to the goal. It's the previous phase that we'd already broken down. Trying to blame Davis for that goal is just looking for fault in Davis.

That does surprise me from a poster who appears to have a campaign against Davis as vindictive as one that got another poster in trouble with a different player's family.

I was feeling positive, then I watched Sky's review of the game... on 16:18 - Aug 17 with 1020 views | Nutkins_Return | Much better today. At the game and whilst we never got in top gear we were the better team and second half the didn't have a sniff and we had 2-3 good chances and all the ball really. We are a few key players being integrated away from being a very good side again with the confidence to come back in. Jens is different gravy and will be key but we definitely need another. Matusiwa second half was brilliant I thought although on the yellow makes me nervous as he has no careful switch in him. Just in their winning balls. Philogene is much more effective then Clarke and wins the ball back really well. We didn't use him nearly enough. To p delivery as well. He will get better and better.

There you go if as a phase you say he Makes A tackle other phases don't materalise in the order that we conceded in as there wouldn't be that same order, but thanks anyway,

So they scored because we gave away a throw in during the first 10 minutes.

If Davis had got a foot in then the move would have panned out differently, so I think he does take partial responsibility. As does most of the team.

Now your just being pedantic as we're talking about a build up to a goal and phases , but if you think a throw in caused the goal after ten minutes your more than entitled to that opinion

How far do you want to roll back the play? The tackle you're 'fixated' on was right in the middle of the pitch, with minimal risk - so no need for Davis to commit to a 50/50 challenge that (as you say yourself) could have led to a yellow card (so unnecessarily picked up), or injury. There is a place for the type of challenge you are chastising Davis for not making, but that wasn't one of them imo.

So in phases and real time how long after the bottle tackle did the ball end up in our net, 45 seconds, no one covered themselves in glory after his lame attempt granted,
