More than half of the medicals I receive show an (issue) usually slight and of little concern. Sometimes there is a little more concern to it. You then make a decision, do I take the risk, manage him or eliminate the risk altogether and avoid him.That decision is usually influenced by other factors such as salary, other available options within the squad or outside of it. Failing a medical isn’t always absolute even if it is portrayed that way. | | | |

The club aren’t going to say why. We definitely wanted him though. Out bid Valencia for him,flew him over,deal done for a permanent switch next season etc………..Something went wrong. Quite right. People seem to view a medical as pass or fail, it’s more like a risk assessment and the level of risk clubs are open to is generally dictated by the terms of the deal. Seems he was due to play again for Como in April near the end of the season following a calf / achilles injury he picked up in his last match for Zaragoza but suffered a setback. He didn't play again until pre-season.
