Crowd were very quiet today 20:56 - Aug 17 with 2778 views | CopfordBlue | Hopefully it was just the midday kick off. In our promotion seasons the crowd were a factor in the late goals, borderline decisions in our favour, digging in in those final minutes etc. Other than the stadium being full, today was reminiscent of the atmosphere during the Marcus Evans era.

Crowd were very quiet today on 08:20 - Aug 18 with 194 views | thebooks | I thought it was alright (NS lower), especially the first 20m when it was really loud. Early goal obviously helped. Most importantly, didn’t start getting on the players’ backs when Southampton equalised and they were looking strong. Lot stayed to clap the team off at the end, loud KM chorus as well. All in all, good, and will just get better as the team gels — which it did in the second half. I’d add, obviously the atmosphere will be good when we’re winning game after game off the back of a promotion. [Post edited 18 Aug 8:22]

Crowd were very quiet today on 21:30 - Aug 17 by Churchman | Part of it depends on where you are in the ground. I’ve moved seats this season and am sitting North Stand side of the directors box and I thought the atmosphere was pretty good. Plenty from the NS - couldn’t hear anything of the Southampton people. The crowd was never the loudest and the acoustics of NS is poor thanks to its design. What’s nice was the crowd was not hammering the players in the way a significant number on here are. They stayed with the team. It was an enjoyable game despite us not being a proper team at the moment and a draw from a match we might have won. |
likewise from the lower tier of the same stand. Thought the crowd were ok and better than many games. Saints very quiet
I’m one to criticise the atmosphere… but I thought it was OK on 10:10 - Aug 18 with 104 views | unstableblue | A pretty good start helped by the TIFO, some good early noise But it did drop off when Saints had a spell first half and the goal The one thing to say about second half, our team delivered excitement, we could have done more. What I think the issue with the PR atmosphere is that it’s becoming quite concentrated in Block A and Lower North, the west stand side of lower North is getting better. Upper North seems to be quieter? And the west stand and Cobbold are becoming non existent They need on certain songs to really join in en masse. Maybe that will come with success.

Several areas and I think especially midfield and lack of impact players available to come on has jolted fans into the reality which in fact was always there that promotion is no certainty. What effect that would have if promotion wasn't achieved is anyone's guess.
