The original news article from the local news group that broke on the Saturday before our preseason game had no quotes but you imagine it to be broadly accurate. The wording wasn’t quotes and wasn’t categorical in that he’d said no not now or no not ever which has left a lot of oxygen to fill the gap. If he’d been really up for joining he’d have been here but our original offer may have been time bound allowing for us to at least go back and ask the question and close this up once and for all this window. | |

My point is from our perspective - we shouldn’t be waiting around on the off-chance.
I do disagree with your point though. Have you not monitored previous final days of the transfer window? There are chains of transfers that often conclude on the final day, provided all the pieces of the chain are in place. Boro could have their incoming signings lined up, waiting to close subject to Hackney leaving. If he goes, they conclude their new signings, if not no one moves. | | | |
