Two weeks today the window will be shut. Bit of fun Chaps and Chapettes, put your proverbials on the chopping block. Do we:
A) Get what we need in and out. I know we could argue all day on exactly how many we need (and club may have a different view), but for argument's sake let's split the difference and say this equates to 4 new players (including the New Haaland Tractor). For me the number we need in is 6, but I imagine that's for the birds at this stage.
B) We get some, but leave ourselves short and aim to top up in January. Say 2 in's
C) We just get New Haaland Tractor, or don't even get him
I think its B, as that seems to be the way it plays out for us in recent years for one reason or another.

Baggott loaned out, Taylor sold. Clarke and Townsend not registered
Norwegian kid signed in the next couple of days. Big name CM out of nowhere signed early next week.
One experienced but slightly underwhelming striker signed on the 30th. Prem loanee who is "exciting" but untested brought in on the 31st to allow Taylor to move permanently to somewhere like Charlton or Portsmouth. That loan doesn't work out and he goes back in Jan. Humphries retained as good cover at both LB and CM. | | | |

Yep, we appear to be a bit better off in that regard but still three big gaps to fill.
I think we need another full back given injuries to Clarke and Townsend too. | |

We should be greedy IMO. We've just sold 70M of players and wan't to get automatically promoted.
That to me means recruiting the best possible squad possible, not settling for 'adequate'. Both Taylor & Humphreys have played their share of the first 3 games and I'm not sure either has shown they are capable of really driving the team forward with impetus in that vital position. | | | |
