I think it's likely that we've got multiple deals/enquiries in progress for lots of these roles. Quite possible we're trying to progress 6/7 CMs and when we sign 1/3 we end the interest in the others. |  |

Don't disagree at all, my point was more that Birmingham are in a similar position to us in that respect.
If we end the transfer window for arguments sake with that 4, an Omari replacement (the young Norwegian lad) and a top #9 then you could make a strong argument that our squad is stronger now than last season, despite the departures. [Post edited 20 Aug 10:20]

I think it’s pretty clear things have gone wrong to a fair degree. We’ve not landed several targets for various reasons - plenty of it out of our control. But it’s pretty thin gruel in the prem squads without us going mental and somehow convincing bigger names to come here. | |
