I struggle to see how he would have no interest in joining us given that a) we must’ve had some indication earlier in the window that he’d join, otherwise why waste time putting together a £15m-£20m package for him and b) why would he waste his time coming to view the training ground/ground if he hadn’t been impressed by conversations he’d had with McKenna and Ashton.
I can understand that he would rather wait to see if a Prem club comes in for him, but given the window shuts in 10 days or so, and no Prem club have been forthcoming (to our knowledge) these past 3 weeks, you’d imagine we again have had indication he’s willing to talk again should we make a new approach.
I just cannot believe for 1 minute we’d spend all this time on a transfer knowing he wouldn’t want to join. |

It's not blatantly obvious though. That's just in your head, like some angry spurned lover. It's perfectly plausible that he liked what he saw of ITFC but would prefer a Prem move - which if it didn't happen would mean he's interested in ITFC again. And if we're still pursuing it that would suggest there is a chance, else why would we bother?
There's no point throwing the baby out with the bath water just because you're upset he initially turned us down (without any knowledge about the finer details of that rebuffal). | |

I think it's fair to say that he definitely wants a Prem move and that's fair enough. It may be a case that it's in my head that he doesn't want to come here for obvious reasons. If what we are led to believe is true in that he is a Boro boy through and through and loves the place I genuinely think he would have little motivation in joining us what with Suffolk being so far away from "home" aside from Money there seems little to entice him and with that I think he knows at some point the prem will come calling, if not in this window. | | | |

He seems like a long shot doesn’t he. There’s a lot of things that have to fall into place: failure to secure a PL move, re-acceptance of a bid that may now hinge on whether another sale happens, ‘encouragement’ by Boro if they want him to leave and his final decision, etc.
Very high risk but also potentially high reward. We’re running out of time, but it’s also a big decision to give up and walk away if we think he’s a missing piece of the jigsaw. I’m glad I’m not involved in that decision. |  |
