Tesco meal deal increasing to £3.85 tomorrow (with clubcard)

((£4.25 without clubcard))

Disgraceful.

Make your own lunch. Save a couple of quid a day. Over the year you would have a chunk towards your ST.

Much better for you as well compared to the processed shop bought sh1t.

Rather depends on what you make though doesn’t it?

Sugar puff sandwich, grab bag of wotsits, an apple...turnover and a full sugar energy drink.

Yes, good point. Was thinking like-for-like on a home made sandwich for example, vs. the ones packed full of preservatives and highly processed cheap ingredients.

If only Tesco included healthy options in their meal deals. Oh hang on...

The best thing in a Tesco meal deal used to be the chicken & tomato pasta but last time I got it the amount of chicken in there was insulting.

The issue here is not the inflation, but

A. The fact that you have to accept being tracked by club card to get a fair price. It's not a discount....

B. It's cheaper to add unhealthy crisps to your lunch than not to...

As a public service to the board here - those not happy about handing data to Tescos are welcome to private message me, I will send you a scan of my clubcard so you can grab those discounts without that burden.

Sounds like a you problem if you can't pick fruit or something else over crisps.

The £3.60 a meal deal costs, especially when out on the road a lot, doesn't go particularly far even when trying to make your own packed lunch and bringing it with you.....especially if not a coffee drinker so having a bottle of fizz one of the only treats in a miserable existence!

Greggs: £3 for a nicer range of sandwiches, wraps and rolls and a drink, including Innocent Smoothies. No crisps, but if you really need them then get yourself a 6 pack for the week for £1.50 and treat yourself to two packs on whichever day of the week is shttiest.

Average cost £3.30 a day.

Saving 55p a day v Tesco. No Clubcard tracking. Better range of sandwiches and rolls.

Thanks for doing this for me. Just paid for my sandwich with points, too, so it didn't even cost me the £3.85!

I'm pretty sure with Tesco you can't do this with just a scan of the card QR - you would need the app and all my account details to get the voucher. I think, anyway....

Yeah, I guess, but it is comfortably reassuring up here to know you’re willing to bat for the ‘normal people’ who are incapable of slapping some basic ingredients between two slices of whole meal and managing some apples and salad through to their expiry date.
