Cook suffered a knee injury in last weekend's pre-season friendly with Bristol City.
The full extent of the problem was diagnosed following Bournemouth's flight to the United States to take part in the four-team Premier League Summer Series.
Thankfully for Cook, it is the less serious medial ligament injury.
The 28-year-old has already recovered from two lots of cruciate ligament surgery that led to extended periods on the sidelines.

Don't know if there is any truth in it, but if fit, he would be an excellent addition for us. It would be a surprise that he would drop down from the PL at his age though, especially when we have already signed a player who is intended to be our starter in his position. | |

I just can't see that we have a hope in hell of signing Cook. Been an ever present over the last couple of seasons in a successful Bournemouth team and still has three years left on what I assume is a decent PL contract.
He is with CAA Stellar though so I suppose anything is possible! | | | |

I think you are right, and then Phil has quashed Billing too yet I am sure I have seen reputable journos (Darren Witcoop?) say we've had a second bid that was rejected.
