Gambling companies tend to know what they are doing with setting the odds. We were favourites to go down both seasons that we did (prem and champ) and favourites to go up from league 1 when we did. The fundamentals of our squad and finances are very strong, just need the new team to gel and we could go on a great run. Leeds drew their first two last season and lost their fifth game, and went on to set a record points total. We need a new cm, need to get Jens up to speed and ideally another good winger and CF - think Prem loans will be on the way next week once they get their transfer business done, we’ll be fine. | | | |

The one I remember is Palace. They were 20th on Boxing Day 2003, with Iain Dowie just coming in as manager. They beat us 3-1 down here in the following game, went on a run, finished sixth and went up via the play offs. | |

I think that the term you are grasping for is tell and not clue.
Regardless of your sleuthing, it would be a brave man to take a bet on 'us' as the outright winners on current evidence. This was simply my line of interrogation. Am I wrong? Do things not risk descending into farce at this point?
