Picture of him and Downes, with a song about being locked up and not let go.

That's very disappointing is true. I am getting fed up the modern day footballer.

Was told when he signed it that he could leave if O’Shea stayed
Woolfy on 19:33 - Aug 27 with 3150 views | BlueinBrum | Not impressed by that, would hope for more from him as a pro. I sympathise with his situation…albeit I had forgotten he actually signed a new contract only 6 months ago….

Agent has failed him then if there’s nothing in writing to that effect. Footballers can’t deal in verbal agreements nowadays. FWIW I have some sympathy, it’s a short career and he wants to play. Being behind O’Shea is probably the worst place to be given it’s a position with minimal rotation, he’s our captain and arguably most PL ready player in the squad. Thems the breaks though, needs to remain professional.

I actually wonder if im right about it being about downes and not him, bare in mind Wolfy was part of the bomb squad, he never threw his toys out of the pram, I cant imagine him being like it tbh

I hadn’t given it a seconds thought and I can see your thinking process. But. With us being linked to defenders, murmors for weeks about him and the fact downes is playing fairly consistently I do struggle to see it

It’s possible. Of all the photos he’s got from his Town career it’s a bit odd to use one with Downes in. Still make it more likely it’s about his situation though.

Yeah, if it were me and i was trying to make a point, id use a picture of me sitting on the bench Hope im right as KM may just think Downes, Cajuste and Azor is the perfect 3 man rotation midfield considering we play the double pivot

I feel like our CBs that came through the leagues got the worst of it really as they were pretty good when called upon last year, that said he signed a contract in January, knowing who was at the club at the time.

Downes wanted to Leave and under Lambert and we wouldn't let him.

The only thing I can think of is he, and/or the club, thought O'Shea would be off upon relegation, and he was told he would be first choice in that scenario. He didn't mind being a squad player in the Premier League, but wants more in the Championship. Obviously it hasn't worked out that way. But I wonder what would instigate this post now? Has he been told he has to stay warming a seat in the stands because we cannot make a deal for Caceres? I have more sympathy for him than the likes of Hutchinson or, at Newcastle, Isak, who are key players throwing their toys out of the pram rather than someone in the reserves seeking first team football. And he has, up to now, kept himself available for the squad which is more than can be said about those two. It's also an added issue when we let the club captain go for nothing, without ensuring we have cover, yet tell other players to accept it. I wonder whether that's why he was in the squad on Saturday, leaving us with only one central midfielder as back up; to try and placate him slightly? Did McKenna ever reference the lack of Humphreys? We have no idea how often these things are done under gentlemen’s agreements though, given we only find out about these things when they are broken. Would imagine agents know far more about ‘the done thing’ than anyone on here
