Furlong has certainly played in the middle for WBA according to a Baggies mate of mine, albeit not a lot. It’s sub optimal for sure, and I do think KM will want cover, just saying I’d probably roll the dice even if we don’t personally just because we don’t need naysayers. Not questioning Woolfs commitment or application, I just don’t like the idea of carrying players when it’s been made public that they want out. I don’t think it’s healthy. Ideally we bring someone in tomorrow though. |
If you saw Young against Derby he was more a third hybrid-CB then a FB, how we started our attacks. Furlong can definitely cover that hybrid role. |  |

I’d consider that a very good window. Might leave us a little short defensively but Kipre can cover both sides, and Furlong has played centrally as well albeit not too often. As disappointing as it will be to see Woolf move on I really don’t see the value in keeping anyone against their will. We need a squad of players who want to be here and are all bought in. I don’t blame Woolf FWIW, but get him sold and move on. If we can’t get anyone in until Jan then so be it.

Surprised people still expect a CM.
I think we will see 2-4 out and 1 in. Possibly a young striker on loan.
Obviously this changes if Woolf/Taylor leave as they will need replacing. Personally I really hope Woolf has accepted he is staying but after the last week that seems unlikely. |

Sweet Baby James for Taylor ? sorry...
Given that Taylor has been involved in games more than Humphreys has so far this season I wonder if it is the latter who will go out on loan to a less wealthy second tier side (or even a Scottish Premiership side, God knows Aberdeen could do with a bit of calm and quality on the pitch at the moment) so that he gets enough first team involvement to continue his development.
If there is any way that McKenna can persuade Woolfenden that he will get some game time this season then I hope that happens. [edit: Woolfendon staying is what I hope happens.] [Post edited 1 Sep 9:44]
