Blackburn Away 13:25 - Sep 3 with 4903 views | rkditfc | Just wondering, am I missing something? Is it the 5 hour drive? Why are there loads of tickets left? Or did we get more released recently?

Blackburn Away on 16:38 - Sep 3 by JakeITFC | I think we only took 2,000ish on the last day in 2015 when a result would have got us into the play-offs (as it happened we lost and got in) so I don't think taking 4,000ish to places like Blackburn and Preston should ever be taken for granted. |
Not too bad for a 12:15 kick off and on TV

Blackburn Away on 17:01 - Sep 3 with 1295 views | DJR | It's worked out well for me. I have maximum points but waited for general sale so I could get a seat with my son who is at university Oop North. [Post edited 3 Sep 17:02]

Blackburn Away on 16:02 - Sep 3 by farkenhell | Birmingham to Blackburn is a much shorter journey and considerably easier to get there and back than Suffolk to Blackburn. |
No intention to draw comparisons, just indicating the unusual high potential allocation if/when demand is there for it, no idea how often they sell all 7000, fair few clubs nearby I suppose so may be more often than I imagine.

And they're on the same thrill seeking adventure that we were on. Couple of hours up the M6 but a lousy train trip.

Blackburn Away on 21:36 - Sep 3 with 982 views | Tampa_Florida_Blue | I use to work for a company in Blackburn 20 odd years ago and would get to PR for the weekend games. I have no idea what the road system is like in England now, but back then I use to allowe 6 hours to get to PR from Blackburn. It would take me anything from 3.5 hrs (not driving at speed limits) to over 6 hours. I say 5 hours is about right. Much of it depends on who is playing at home on that day.

Blackburn Away on 13:42 - Sep 3 by LankHenners | Evidence would suggest the opposite is true - all the bandwagoners who started going that season when the points system was announced have now decided they can’t be arsed as they’re only now interested in going to closer ones. |
For me it's not the length of the journey it's getting to and from Ipswich early in the morning and late at night. I don't live in Ipswich, so I have to get the train. That's my issue, not sure if it's the same elsewhere?

Well yes there are plenty of reasons why people can't/don't want to go which is absolutely fine. That's sort of part of my point - there are people on here and elsewhere (usually ones in the highest points brackets) who like to patronise the rest of the fanbase and go on about how lazy they are for not making the effort to go to away games and therefore deserve zero sympathy if they ever voice a desire to go to a match they can no longer get access to. It was the same before Preston - people acting like we weren't going to sell many past the higher brackets because the lower ones were full of lazy entitled people who only want to travel as far as London for an away game, but it reality the majority of seats were taken up after access was opened up to the lower brackets.

It's hard to draw many conclusions from the Preston / Blackburn sales about number of high-point members choosing not go, both fixtures were always going to make it to General Sale, so there's bound to be an un-quantifiable number of high-point members who chose to leave purchasing tickets until a lower window to sit with lower-point friends etc. Add in to the mix that for both Preston and Blackburn sales, leaving it later to get your ticket meant that some 'better' (ie more central) blocks were only released in lower-point windows, the need / want to buy immediately is reduced further. What does appear to be clear (albeit the Blackburn sale is still open) is that demand overall for Blackburn vs Preston is about 700 tickets lower. Lots of speculative reasons why that could be the case, but not that can be proven by stats alone.
Blackburn Away on 19:31 - Sep 5 with 211 views | roblenton | My tickets arrived today. Last championship match was Good Friday I believe when Blackburn had 3 goals disallowed and we somehow won 1 v 0, followed by the Sarmiento moment v Southampton on the Monday. Quite a weekend.

Had the same last season for the Bristol Rovers home game in the FA Cup before it had gone on sale to anyone who wasn’t an ST holder: And the Coventry away game while still in high priority bands: remaining Manure tix…. by C_HealyIsAPleasure 29 Jan 18:55Given it’s only on sale to 20+ atm all this shows is that the hardcore attend every game camp don’t want to go when it’s lower league opposition
If there’s still loads available after they’ve got to general sale you’d have a point, but then there was a similar thread for the Bristol Rovers game when tickets were only on sale to members and that ended up being a sell out Funnily enough both ended up selling out once more widely available

Still waiting for mine. There’s only 1 mail stage coach a week heading west of Cardiff though.
