This thread on him being completely ripped apart in America is a fascinating listen/read.

What’s equally important is Keir growing some balls and nailing him here

I'm not not clicking NSFW links mate. Is it a link that's seeking to justify threats of violence despite you saying that threats of violence are A Bad Thing?

No its a link that makes the logic behind the Linehan arrest come tumbling down. There are literally hundreds of far worse threats there from trans activists just simply ignored.

Do you think if i said on twtd "x deserves a punch in the face" which is of course far worse in terms in incitement because i'm actually specifying a target, that the police should visit me?

Utter madness.

Why does he hate this country so much?

He doesn't. But he wants all of us to hate it.
If you hate your country and everything it stands for, you are more likely to vote for a radical right populist party.

Its all a game.

Seems a bit harsh. Lowehouse reminds a bit of Rod Liddle without the attempted humour, but I'm sure he's a nice guy in real life, and he's a Town fan.

More like Rod Hull, or more precisely, his sidekick.

I get this, but I also think some sensibility (and heightened responsibility) should also come into play with regards the reach and influence from the suspect when it comes to applying the law

When hundreds of peaceful protesters, including elderly and disabled people, are arrested under terrorism laws, there is no logic left. The police don't have resources to attend actual crimes, which affect whole communities, but they can put out a mob of hundreds to arrest old ladies.

Although I don't think it bridges what I see as quite a chasm, that's not an unreasonable point.

If you said on here that X deserves a punch in the face once, in the heat of the moment, then no.

If you waged an ongoing war against X, managed to rally a whole group of people to your cause (many of whom have shown themselves more than capable in the past of delivering a punch to the face, or worse) and THEN suggested it, then it'd be a different matter.

If you did ALL of that, had a huge audience AND wanted to punch X in the face because he's black/gay/trans/disabled... then yeah, you should expect a visit from the police, if only for a friendly word in the first instance (this isn't the first instance, either...)

Yep, the same point applied to different people, although as I've said before I think the proscribing of the group as terrorists was the fault more than the police applying the law, but yes the priorities are all over the place again.

Well, he was asking about a hypothetical scenario, so sure... but in Linehan's case, which bit didn't happen?

I would imagine it may also depend on your reach. If an account with one follower tweeted something calling for violence, I would not expect it to be given the same attention that one that has 630,000 followers (like Linehan does), even if it was worse.
