A 37 minute interview with MA and KM on TownTV this evening… on 09:58 - Sep 5 by Bobbychase
Ashton is what he is. Do I want someone as driven as him running my club after the years of underinvestment and chaos? Yes.
Would I want to sit next to him on a long-haul flight? Probably not.
But it does seem to me he can't win. Lots of people saying "where's Ashton" over the past three months (when tbh I'd rather he was working on signings than giving interviews to the media) and now it's "can't stand the sound of him". I know it's not the same people saying both things but as a CEO there's not much else he can do.
Exactly, the guy can't win, as for listening to KM speak for long, cures the insomnia for sure.

I don't think we have been as bad as people make out. Poor at Brum, but we were very short on numbers that night. Play them now and we win. Saints was ok, should have took our chances. 2nd half v Preston we were all over them like beans on toast, but we passed too much and didn't shoot enough. Their keeper didn't have much to do. 6 booking for them so they probably fouled us when we got dangerous. Played better v derby, gave away 2 soft goal from nothing. Once again their keeper wasn't tested enough. Again too much passing and not enough direct dribbling. 7 bookings for the visitors. Also Preston and Derby scored with 100% of shots on goal.
Theme of the season is teams are working very hard and are using up tactical fouls.
There's a word that would win you Countdown for that: ends in -housery. However we got up from L1 under similar circumstances, and I just can't see any team running away with it this season, so if we can be top 6 even as late as March, I think we could nick automatic promotion. The cliché is true: it's a marathon not a sprint.
It was time for this - a few days late if I'm being really picky, but as you'd expect they say all the right things.
Really, really pleased with this bit - “Jason Schechterle will be over again shortly to meet all the new players and embed them into the values of the club." I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but guess it was wise to wait until the squad was finalised before he visited. His story and message seemed to have a huge impact on building the values and togetherness of the group in those first few months. i hope it does the same this time.
Likewise, I'm sure we'll see the owners over again soon to underscore the message.
Jeeez….the fact that half of the comments on here are about Mark Ashton and his way of talking drives me to despair. I really think sometimes we don’t deserve him. I listened to all of that and I felt massively positive, I come on here and read some of the s**t takes, pi**ed me right off.

Absolutely ridiculous when you consider where we were when he took over.
Politics of envy maybe at play? Successful guy, quite sure of himself and not afraid to show it.
That’s the only reason I can think of for why he gets so much stick on here.
Bring back Clegg…

It's entirely possible to acknowledge the fact that the chap seems to be a top CEO, whilst also bemoaning the fact that he seems to have swallowed a The Office box set, alongside the entirety of LinkedIn.

I don’t think there’s anything to acknowledge personally.
Listen to any successful people and they all sound like that. Bezos, Musk, Jamie Dimon etc.
Maybe what people don’t like is that he’s so driven and dedicated which makes them feel bad about themselves because they aren’t where they want to be in their own lives?
End of the day, he’s given me, my mates and my family some of the best days of my life. He can say and do what the f he wants as far as I’m concerned.
