I think Clive Lewis' comment on X, posted above, deserves consideration, however.
I can't square the circle that anyone with good conscience would attend a mach organised by Tommy Robinson.
I understand patriotism. I'm completely on board with a sense of national pride. I'm not ashamed to say that I love my country.
I also understand the frustration and sense of hopelessness and powerlessness that many people are feeling in this country at the moment. But associating yourself in anyway with the likes of TR, Katie Hopkins and Laurence Fox is something no one should ever do.
As someone around in the late 70s when the National Front were on the rise, I find it shocking that a march organised and attended by people from the far right should attract a crowd way in excess of the crowds that the NF attracted in the 70s.
It even had Elon Musk who even Donald Trump thought was beyond the pale.
It's a sad reflection of the fact that racist rhetoric and sentiment (eg. deporting legal migrants) are increasingly becoming normalised in this country, as I have witnessed in person myself.
Of course, many people have concerns about immigration but that doesn't in my view excuse people becoming racist about it.

Hmm A bishop and priests? How very Christian to join a March where the guest speaker calls for the overthrow of a democratically elected govt. And organised by a racist thug. And Maoris? WTF. Why am I sceptical of the neutrality of your observations
Sorry I was there and you clearly weren't. I have no allegiance to either side and just have written what I saw. I have no reason to lie about who was there. Look online to see the Maori's doing the Haka at the start of the march and there is footage of the Bishop. Sorry if my truthful information doesn't suit your political agenda.

Out of interest, why do you think outright racists, from America, were invited to speak yesterday? I presume your journalist and ex police officer friends had an opinion on that.

It was a coincidence that known right-wingers and extreme racists were:
1) Organising it 2) Speaking at it 3) Promoting it 4) There at all
It’s all a huge misunderstanding. Poor people attending didn’t know what they signed up for.

Listen I have no idea. I was there to observe as I have said previously and it was very interesting to see the media lies. Frankly I couldn't give a flying **** either way. I live my life the way I want to and protect my family which is my only concern without jumping on any political bandwagon.

But to be clear, you were at an event organised by a known racist, and which was attended by very public and vocal racist/dangerous people, and you didn’t come away thinking “hmm, that was horrible, I wish I wasn’t witnessing that in person”?
Righto.

I’m not, that was a genuine question.
If that’s your takeaway, and you’re not filled with shock and outrage about what is happening in this world then we have nothing else to talk about Mr Angry.
Have a good night.

Hardly angry.... sorry if I hurt your feelings about not being filled with outrage. I am so hurt that you downvoted me.
