Can anyone recommend a decent one?

We've tried The Chequers, Indian Ocean, Masha of India, The Maharani and Eastern Spice this year, and it just seems too bland every time.

I find them much of a muchness, isn't Chequers meant to be highly rated?

The Zaika is usually considered pretty good but probably pricier, similar for the Passage to India

I have heard people talking up the Bekash in Whitton

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Bekash is great when it's good, but can be a little bit hit and miss.

I tend to go for that or Maharani as a rule though.

Is Maharani on Norwich Road still there?

Edit just saw that name in your OP, if it's the same one that used to be good 25-30 years ago.

I'm enough of a loser to remember my first ever visit there, on a Friday night in February 1992 when we were playing Tranmere away.

Dhaka is the best in town but pricey. Bekash is good and great value for money. Very underrated.

Alashan, old Kesgrave. Never let me down.

Onion Bhajis can sometimes be a bit too greasy though
