Morsy leaving Kuwait SC already…? on 18:31 - Sep 23 by waveneyblue | Probably.... could take Taylors place. |
For the downvoters (that includes my bestie Bigal), this was a response to a jokey comment based purely on the crap that's on X.

Morsy leaving Kuwait SC already…? on 18:02 - Sep 23 by Swailsey | Have a day off with this nonsense. Anyone “left-leaning” as you claim to be wouldn’t use inflammatory language like “woke-left”. It’s a made-up term by right-wingers to dismiss out of hand important things which you claim to support. I’ll leave it there, but you know what you’re doing. [Post edited 23 Sep 18:10]

I don't think you really understand what I mean or what is going on outside of the bubble. I am sincere in my position and there are many people on the left who feel like this. For example even Tom Walker's character Jonathan Pie noticed this some 8 years ago. I have given an example of what i mean in another post, you're free to engage in debate and rebuff that claim.

Aye I see that now on 17:29 - Sep 23 by Herbivore | But nobody has had their contract cancelled for not wearing rainbow laces and nobody has called for that to happen either, it's creating a bogeyman to attribute this happening or potentially happening to the "woke left". It's very Trumpian, in all honesty. People are, however, entitled to feel disappointed in someone if they choose not to engage in a gesture that's intended to promote inclusivity in a traditionally very macho sport where gay people haven't felt welcome and they are free to express that disappointment. My worry is that positions such as the one you're taking here create a false equivalence at a time when, in the US in particular, the right are suppressing free speech and seeking to cancel (or worse) dissenting voices. |
I didn't say they had, I was giving a hypothetical example of what i mean, I could give real world examples of cancellation, anyone who doesn't agree with gender ideology for example have lost work and careers. Or even Jerry Sadowitz got cancelled at Edinburgh, is he right-wing now? He was one of Stewart Lee's favourites, where was his support when he needed it? "People are, however, entitled to feel disappointed in someone if they choose not to engage" - absolutely they can express that disappointment, where have I said they couldn't, it's free speech for both sides. You don't force inclusivity though, that's where the w*** left have stopped being liberal. [Post edited 23 Sep 22:41]

Sorry. | |
