Blackburn Rovers have banned their local paper from games. on 21:13 - Sep 26 with 2016 views | Zx1988 | A disappointing development, but this is probably the basis upon which most club/media relationships are built these days. The media is so reliant upon a club's cooperation in order to generate content and make money, and it's clear that the ITFC-covering media will have been issued revised 'terms of engagement', given the change of tack in reporting since Ashton took the helm. I can imagine (although maybe not to the same extent) that, say, Club/EADT relations may shift significantly should Stuart Watson start going off-message with his reporting.

It's so bizarre If Blackburn get relegated or Ipswich win promotion because of this game Absolutely spot on................ IF it were the last game of the season, it was the 6th, It has 0 effect on anything other than it could derail blackburns season because they're hell bent on making such a fuss about it.

Problem is, they're going to use all this to get fired up for the rematch... and their home fans will be super-fired up as well. I don't know if it'll be enough to make up for their lack of quality, but it certainly doesn't help... and yet we've not actually done anything wrong!

A very large tool. There’s a certain irony in him complaining again in a post that’s main subject is a defence of accurate journalism. Winter is deliberately misrepresenting the rules and getting particularly salty about it too. He doesn’t work for a national any more does he? So this could just be him trying to stay relevant as he gets ever more irrelevant.

I seem to remember him writing about us in quite a balanced way last season. In a way that most other commentators weren't. I know blue Monday etc joke about us being the baddies now (with the parachute payments) but I do wonder whether that plays into it.

Ha, did they not go along with the indignant "don't go along with all the precedent, rewrite the rules in our favour" line? What a childish, petulant, silly club they seem to have become.

I'm surprised by Winter's clickbait, very poor form from a traditional/professional/legacy (delete according to bias) journalist. What they seem to be ignoring, apart from the rules, is the pitch was unplayable long before 80 minutes. As is often the case, it's the officials who've fooked up and created this storm in a teacup by not abondoning it much earlier. That ref has form with us. Barnsley game. In recent memory I've never been so mad at the ref except Leicester last season. That showhorse prance into the box pointing at the spot for a debateable 'foul' that happened outside the area anyway, and the Harness disallowed goal. Jesus! I avoid social media except this site so don't know if other professional journos are pointing out the bleeding obvious about Blackburn Rovers' inability to provide a playable pitch.

When we go 2-0 up in the first half the Rovers fans will quite rightly turn their ire at their rotten ownership :) I have some sympathy, as should most right thinking ITFC fans who endured MEG.

That’s not like him at all. He’s one of, if the, best journalists out there and has been very complimentary towards us on a regular basis in the last few years.
