Have to admit it’s the worst I’ve ever seen it for crowd abuse. The European players were expecting it to be horrendous and even with things going well, a few of our players have reacted to stuff. Rory and Lowry have both told the yanks to f**k off, Hovland was called a c**t on the teebox, Rose given some form of abuse, etc.
It’s not great really for the sport.
But I suppose that’s the Ryder cup. Albeit that’s not really an excuse I’d say. |  |

I suppose it depends on whether you think Tr*mp is just a symptom of the selfish, aggressive, short-sighted, narcissistic world we are rapidly descending into, or whether you think he is a major driver, the major driver of it?
As a Republican you can like Tr*mp's policies, but you have to also acknowledge the incredibly destabilising way he's going about enacting them, and the consequences that civil society faces as a result.
In terms of US Presidents, you might argue that Bush Jr was a bit thick, or that Clinton was a bit gropey, or that Nixon was a bit bent, or that Kennedy was a bit something or other, but what you can't deny is that Tr*mp is off-the-scale immature, undiplomatic, irresponsible and massively, massively divisive both internationally and domestically, and that certainly has to be having an effect on his supporters and their public demeanour. | |

Is it just me? Although I’m enjoying the golf of the Ryder Cup especially Europe giving the Americans a royal spanking in their own backyard the lack of class and respect by the home crowd is really lowering the bar of this great competition, it really is pathetic and classless. Not surprising given this from the Guardian.
"The European team were expecting abuse from the people paying to attend this Ryder Cup, but not from the people the Ryder Cup are paying to entertain them while they are here. In a dismal start to what turned into one of the most rancorous day’s play in the history of the competition, the female master of ceremonies employed to inject some life into the crowd at the 1st tee was recorded using a megaphone to lead a chant of “F8ck you Rory!” before Saturday morning’s foursomes. The PGA of America, which is organising the tournament, was approached for comment but remained oddly silent.
The incident set the tone for everything that happened after. The words became a recurring chant, and by the end of the day the atmosphere around his fourball with Shane Lowry against Justin Thomas and Cameron Young had become so foul that the PGA of America had brought in a squad of state police to try to restore order."
