It's also about lack of understanding, misdirection of targeting. A synagogue in Manchester almost certainly has no direct links with - certainly no influence over - the government of Israel. Attacking the one will not hurt the other.
Similarly with mosques and Islamic terror organisations.

I've suggested my Son not to wear his skull cap when he leaves the synagogue, but I know he won't, he won't give in to the racists, good man. Although I also know Mrs Bloom will insist they get a taxi, good woman.

Completely agree, I was going to say similar but ended up not as we don't know the motive yet so didn't want to speculate, though I think it's more likely than not related to events in Gaza. Attacking regular Jewish folk because of the actions of the Israeli government is antisemitic and completely unacceptable, and as you say, also deeply misguided. | |
