2 weeks later and still no new date

They need access to a reliable weather forecast, first.

I think the only viable dates this side of the Christmas period are 28/29 October. If they do go for that it will have to be announced soon to get tickets sorted etc.

probably wondering whether to postpone saturday's game to avoid another abandonment...

Their recent results may lead to a change in manager before that game comes around.

Would certainly be amusing to hear their chirping about how it’s unfair we start at 0-0 and don’t start with 10 men… but have a completely new manager in the dugout for the rematch

Yeah, running out of time for that. Couple of midweeks in December too.

I say they have to get him back, just for that game.

There is another possible date mid week the week before Christmas.

The October date is half term, suspect they want as few Town fans there as possible so my money would be on a December date.

They want to give themselves as much advantage as possible so picking a date when fewer Town fsns will attend makes sense.

Holding out Because they are probably going to appeal against the decision,so won’t set a date as yet.

The December date is an option but it's going in to a period that already has a really high number of games.

I think whatever mid-week date they pick the number of away fans will probably be fairly consistent - it will mainly be the hard core group who go to every game who make it. A December game might actually see a few more younger fans if Uni/College etc has broken up by that point.

The clubs have to agree with the league as well I think don't they? So if we wanted to avoid adding to a congested December period would could make a case with the league about that

Find the whole appeal thing weird.

The EFL aren’t going to suddenly reverse their own decision.

And no ‘higher power’ will, as there’s zero precedent (‘case law’) for anything else.

Think it is left to the clubs to set a date with the league stepping in if they can’t.

If we want to play the game later this month perhaps we need to let Blackburn think we want to leave it to December.

That would be tremendous.

Hopefully when they’re 5-0 down with 5 to play… See what they think is fair then.

Give them chance, they’re still trying to convince the EFL to chalk off the Swansea winner on Tuesday.

Agreed. It is weird in that it’s done now. A reversal of the decision would be ludicrous - and in any case, the correct decision was made.

I don’t see any particular necessity to play the fixture this side of Christmas. There tends to be less fixtures the other side of Christmas, especially given the likelihood of both clubs exiting the FA Cup early.

It would be unwise to if EFL to allow the match to be put back to next year, there is the possibility of a cup replay for either team in January.

There are Championship fixtures scheduled for the date of 4th round. Even if both Ipswich & Blackburn lose in round 3 there is a chance our scheduled opponents for 14th February are still in the cup.

The later the better for us!

We might be in our stride by the time it’s organised.

We may have strengthened the squad further and signed a couple more players in January, before we get to replay the game, at this rate.

So just checking.....
Does their equaliser count or do they even want it to count as it damages their "appeal" a tad🤷
