So annoying game is not 3pm today 08:57 - Oct 4 with 1457 views | Blue_Heath | These early kick offs in my mind go some way towards explaining this horrendous run we are on. I can't understand how larger crowds like Manchester, Birmingham or Scouse derbies can be contained yet we always have to play early on Sunday. I hate not having football on a Saturday. Starting to get nervous now as these games unless we are winning comfortably are horrible to watch. Really hoping we are up for it, fed up with hearing all the talk from players and manager, it means nothing unless they go out and do the job. Right now I'd take a victory of any kind but really hoping we can give them a good drubbing. In all honesty though, expecting a drab 1-1, them to score after 20-30 mins first time they get anywhere near our goal and we score 2nd half then both teams scared to lose rather than wanting to win. I feel a win tomorrow would really ignite our season and we will then push on but anything other than that we are looking at play offs at best.

A shame a few dickheads with small cocks ruin it for the rest of us. They should be jailed with hard labour for 20 years.

So annoying game is not 3pm today on 12:08 - Oct 4 with 1073 views | MattinLondon | A tad ott to say that we’re on a horrendous run - win our game in hand and we’re only five points off top. With the Manchester and North London derbies I noticed that a lot of rival fans walk to the grounds together something which doesn’t happen much with our Derby. Maybe that explains why inter-city derbies are played at more reasonable times.
So annoying game is not 3pm today on 12:12 - Oct 4 with 1060 views | Kentish_Tractor | Probably for the best that it isn't actually 3pm today due to the weather! 50mph winds. If it wasn't called off because of unplayable conditions or danger to fans, it wouldn't make for a very good match. Tomorrow's conditions should be much better.

So annoying game is not 3pm today on 12:16 - Oct 4 with 1037 views | Radlett_blue | Rather feeble to blame our lack of derby success on kick off dates or times. Both teams play under the same conditions. The only validity to your argument is that a 12:00 kick off dampens the atmosphere, which reduces home advantage.

So annoying game is not 3pm today on 13:00 - Oct 4 with 889 views | HighgateBlue | I don't understand why you think our players and/or fans are so much less well equipped to deal with kick offs at certain times than Norwich's players? Especially given that this run goes back 16 years, during which time there have been many different players at both clubs, with many differing characteristics and qualities. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Marcus Evans had a poor record in general and a very poor record in the East Anglian derby. But 2 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses makes the equivalent of 11 points from 15 matches. That's the equivalent of 0.733 ppg. (I say equivalent because 2 games were in the playoffs and so didn't yield points per se). Since Evans' era we've had 1 point from 2 games, making 0.5 ppg. There comes a point where we have to acknowledge that others have failings, and not just Mr Evans.

16 years is a horrendous run and that's putting it politely.

Yup, fancy sacking Magilton, the last man to get the job done.
So annoying game is not 3pm today on 16:54 - Oct 4 with 644 views | stonojnr | It's a fair point last game i saw us win a derby game at Portman Rd was a 3pm ko. And it does impact the atmosphere, not just from the fans but I dont think people realise how it impacts how the players prep & eat before the game, which is why you can see their energy levels drop much quicker, and they slow the game down At least as its more common a thing thesedays the club can plan for it and know what works better and doesn't, but I still think it affects the way the game is played. But as others have said the idiots can't be trusted to behave so the police will always insist this to make their life easier. I suspect Merseyside police or Manchester police dont have to deal with as much antagonism between the opposing sides fans as your bumping into fans of the other side all the time up there, you would as someone said see them walking side by to those games chatting to each other, often as best mates, neighbours, colleagues.
So annoying game is not 3pm today on 17:18 - Oct 4 with 604 views | Mark | It probably would have been moved for TV anyway, perhaps to 12:30 Saturday. The wind won't be as strong as today, but 39mph gusts are forecast at noon tomorrow so still fairly windy.

Yes, probably. The Liverpool derby just gone was an early Saturday kickoff for Sky (I think, unless I’m going mad). I hate it, but that’s where we are with Sky now. They care far more about profits from armchair “consumers” than they do about fans who attend matches. I imagine it’s a bit like an abusive relationship. We know the money has corrupted the game and the gap to the EFL has caused huge financial problems for clubs, but we don’t want to walk away (we keep buying Sky subscriptions) because of the promise of being bought shiny gifts (new players) or for the great sex (an occasional PL match of top talent that delivers). OK, I need to work on the analogy, but I’m not a fan of everything having to evolve around Sky with stupid o’clock kick offs.

Yes SKY suck the life out of derbies then take your furthest away fixtures for a Sunday morning or Friday night.
