I love Canada , it’s a fantastic country. Not many games scheduled there unfortunately. Flights between venues will be horrifically expensive

Great place to visit, so many interesting things to see & do between matches. Most places will be very hot though. The game is far more popular than it was last time the US hosted.

World Cup - who is planning on going? on 12:09 - Oct 15 with 1435 views | Illinoisblue | Yes. A road trip to Kansas for a couple of the early games. Don’t really care who’s playing will just be nice to be there and experience it* * it being overpriced tickets, OTT security, overpriced food and “soccer” played in NFL stadiums. 😄

Is there a lot of difference between NFL and soccer stadiums? Out of interest are ‘football stadiums’ like Wembley and the Spurs stadium viewed differently by USA NFL fans than their own stadia?

I've been to 20 of the 30 Stadiums in the NFL, there is a lot of difference. The closest you will get to Spurs type stadium in terms of those hosting is Miami, Houston and Dallas. Spurs still feels a bit crowded and tighter than some of the facilities like at AT&T in Dallas or Atlanta for example. There is a few older stadiums like KC, Philly, Seattle, Foxborough but old in American terms not English terms. Generally bigger concourses and better facilities, very easy access to bars and food, they can all hold atmosphere well, Seattle is class for that. Some of it will be a little raised from the pitch in terms of the front rows, due to how the sidelines are set up for NFL personnel. Sidenote, I can't believe SoFi in LA, is not holding the final, it's incredible, the Meadowlands is not. It's also in a massive carpark in New Brunswick, NJ, can't even get a direct train from Penn but I guess New York (kind of). [Post edited 15 Oct 17:57]

Slightly off topic but have you been to the newish Vikings stadium? I really liked the old Metrodome.
World Cup - who is planning on going? on 21:32 - Oct 15 with 821 views | Bigalhunter | We were all planning to co-ordinate a trip to my sister-in-law’s in Orange County, see the latest new addition to the family, try to take in a game or two, all whilst enjoying a huge family get-together. All the family members outside US have gradually decided to pull the plug on that for various personal concerns regarding the current political climate over there. Dreadful shame really. We’ve been there so many times in the last 30 years and had a magical time visiting over 40 states. Memories that will last a lifetime. I find it utterly unbelievable how the place has now morphed into a no-go zone for so many decent people who don’t feel comfortable setting foot there.

Actually I am going this season as my team had never played them on a Sunday there previously only a Thursday night. Looking forward to it later in the year. But yes I love a old school dome stadium, Super Dome in New Orleans is really the only last one still going but obviously very different from back in the day and post Katrina. SoFi is the best stadium I've ever seen. Unreal. I'm more concerned by the amount of injuries we are going to get at Metlife

Am I reading this correctly, family wont travel to the US to meet a new baby, because of politics?
World Cup - who is planning on going? on 12:31 - Oct 16 with 167 views | Ipswich1984 | The problem is at the moment FIFA have bowed down to the Orange one and said he can move games if he feels cities are unsafe, difficult to book accommodation and travel as you could end up somewhere where there is then no game. We shouldn't be allowing politics to dictate the World Cup just so he can punish the cities who didnt vote for him which in turn punishes businesses and their workers after losing that income from the World Cup.
