Watching Leicester really struggle against Pompey 21:32 - Oct 18 with 1623 views | Linners | When we were (largely) very comfortable just goes to show that this is what the Champ is like. One day you're Real Madrid and the next you're Real Useless. If we can find the blend and rhythm of previous McKenna teams soon then top 2 is certainly on, if not then we should still have enough to get ourselves into the top six. I appreciate such level-headedness is not trendy, but I'm 50 on Tuesday and I've never been bang on trend. COYB

That was even a trait under Maresca. Pompey should really be ahead. 7 mins added time. Bet Leicester snatch it. Edit. Just looked at the Foxes match thread. Very similar comments on there to here about cohesion, systems and reliance on moments of brilliance. [Post edited 18 Oct 21:40]

Breeze is the wrong term, but we have been the architects our our own downfall in most games we have dropped points. We have not been outplayed in any game, but have been too sloppy. Stop making silly mistakes and we will rise up the league, we are so frustratingly close to being an excellent team its actually doing my head in a bit. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I’d agree we make a rod for our own back in games - we’ve not been outplayed or dominated in any game, whilst I also don’t think we’ve dominated anyone else in a game - Norwich for me the most comfortable outting, partly due to just how bad they are. Mistakes without the ball, and real lack of quality with the ball - it rarely is a recipe for success. Lots of work to do.

Away form is only a state of mind. Once we crack it, it will be cracked. No worries.

I'd suggest stopping the tippy happy away from home going direct battle for the second ball, were further up the pitch I'm sure this alone would be more fruitful than where we are now, Tactically he's pretty one dimensional needs to up his game, Watch arsenal and city, At home draw clubs in away look for a long out ball,
Watching Leicester really struggle against Pompey on 13:14 - Oct 19 with 413 views | darkhorse28 | Leicester are a legacy club that massively over spent, they’ve been fighting against PSR for the same period that we’ve had a MASSIVE PSR tailwind. We spent £200 million in the period they’ve had to mostly sell players and rebuild. It’s a false equivalence - when they came down with the leverage we’ve enjoyed (Winks for £10 million) they won this league doing hand stands. That’s a very fair comparison and how we should be judged. As Wilder says, the championship has got more cooperative, but the quality, probably lower in the last few years. This isn’t a great league. When you spent £200 million, against clubs whose entire squads cost £20 million (often less) too two HAS to be expected.., not least because most manager at this level could achieve that, with those resources. You really need to stop making weak excuses for what become very obvious the last 18 months, we aren’t elite off the pitch, we aren’t even very good. Watched Bournemouth yesterday. A striker costing £11 million, a left back costing £12 million.., they looked WORLD CLASS We spent far more in EFL players who won’t ever be even close to premier league level, let alone world class. So I get it feels bad.., hardly ideal .., but why can’t you talk about what in front of you? I’m 51 .., maybe like me you can’t find the reading glasses, or the increasingly frequent ‘senior moment’ .., but we are MILES off where we should be.., and it’s not weather, form, or a bad ref decision. It’s off the field. The players we bought aren’t good enough as a group, the formation, motivation, tactics and coaching isn’t good enough either. Some of the issues like no left side CDM are SO poor. They aren’t issues we’ll resolve with time. Though I do think we’ll improve massively, this isn’t a step back, we just aren’t good relative to the investment, and you don’t keep repeating that, owners aren’t stupid, and it’s why they want the exit door. They won’t allow the ‘piss in my boots and tell me it’s raining’ Your patience is endless.., but it’s not your money.., you don’t care! Would you care more if you’d spent £200 million, to be about the same outcome as £20 million squads? Or if you saw elite off the field teams doing with FAR less what Bournemouth, Brighton, Sunderland, Burnley, Fulham, etc etc do? We aren’t elite.., we aren’t even good. Sunderland have 65% of our points total in EIGHT GAMES - spent less, no legacy squad, league one etc We can’t keep making tired excuses and grasping at straws, out of pure ego. 23/24 isn’t as relevant as 24/25 and these failures are 18 month old. McKenna will end this year with one of the worst losing records in TOP FLIGHT football across Europe! He hasn’t even managed at that level for most of it.., 15 losses in 20 games.., with a squad of English Swedish internationals and £150 million spent. His confidence in adversity and his resilience when things go wrong is very fragile.., doesn’t make him a bad coach, he’s clearly very talented. It does though make him a bad manager. That’s important. We can’t finish outside the top 6, and staying down next season would finish us .., see legacy kind with no parachute money, and our liabilities.., it often ends badly. ‘Awww well’ isn’t an option.

Sadly this is correct very few elements of the team functioning as it should, a lot of work to do to get top two.

Exactly this. Confident we can win our home games. Can see six points this week. But we don’t even look like winning away games.
