Good thing he isn't a Liam Manning appointment as their reigns may not overlap for long.

Truly impaired.

Has he only recently been appointed Joe?

Seems to have taken a hell of a long time after leaving here.

Adem Atay there with him as well. It’s not quite Nunez but it doesn’t reflect well on us, that

Meh... Think some will see this as a negative but he clearly didn't align to the direction the club was going. No time for people not onboard.

Thanks for the service, but shake hands and move on. His loss. We're going in one direction, Norwich are going in the other.

Hard to judge, isn’t it? Hasn’t exactly been a conveyor belt of youth talent coming through, but on the flipside of that we haven’t seemed to prioritize it, either.

Klug must be close to retirement age, surely? Doesn’t on face value appear to be a massive coup.

Seems a bit of a shame to be honest. Norwich fans are languishing at the moment and looking for any scrap of encouragement. Granted, this is pretty small beer, but it's a shame to give them anything to smile over.

It's also a shame if it's true that there was a falling out or lack of seeing eye to eye when Klug departed Ipswich, but as others say, handshake and move on. We have 3 points to be winning tonight...

Why does it reflect anything, we've moved on many people from different departments

You get very sentimental about people moving on. It's a business and we're improving in every aspect of the club. We've also nicked some nodge staff behind the scenes too.

Adem was last involved a few years ago before he was poached by Villa. Was always someone that seemed Ipswich through and through, the same can be said for Klug. Think it’s pretty unfair to judge them based on output of the last of the Evans era given our best players have been poached early. Teddy Bloomfield at Villa, Marcelo Flores to Arsenal, Ben Knight to City, Kundai Benyu to Celtic, Tawanda Chirewa to Wolves. They were good people and backed properly (which we now have the funds to do) would have succeeded.

I was loosely involved at the academy (even that is overplaying it) when the club was at or moving quickly toward its lowest point. In the academy at that point were players such as Chirewa, Benyu, Woolfenden, Downes, Nydam, Harry Clarke, Ben Knight, Flores, Ndaba, among others I’m forgetting. There were coaches such as Liam Manning (less said the better), Chris Hogg, Adem Atay, Kieron Dyer, who were incredibly highly rated. This was on a shoestring budget. I don’t think it’s unfair for me to point out the role Klug played in making this happen. I was not involved under Ashton so what I have heard is all second hand, but doesn’t seem to me he showed Klug the respect he deserved given the service he has given to this club. Hope that clarifies things

Right, so the headline is "New ownership group wanted to go in a different direction that put the noses of age-old academy staff out of joint"?

Nothing to see here then...

Atay left to go to a better job, and when he wanted to work back in this area he didn't have many options - sure no one begrudges him going to Norwich but there isn't a lot of time for old guard from academy at Playford Road any more

He's signed for the scum. Regardless of how much he gave us or how well he was/wasn't treated here, there's nothing lower than that. Shame on him.
