I'd get the front four closer together. I'd like to see a slightly more direct approach on a more regular basis to put some doubt into the opposition over how we will play - will we try to pass out from the back or will we bypass the midfield. Where possible bounce the ball of Hirst with Egeli/Clarke, Szmodics and Philogene offering supporting runs. Get those four working as a unit, and I think that solves half the problem.
Either that or move to a 3-man midfield so we can dominate in that part of the pitch to create better chance for a front three. | | | |

We just have to take our chances. We finished that game with 30 shots, 16 corners and an xG of over 2, whilst Charlton's was below 1. Walton should do better on the first, lucky deflection on the second and the ball was out of play for the third.
But the game should've been out of sight before they scored, and that is the frustrating part. You do get games like this, we just lost to a perfect execution of a game plan, and probably the other 9 times we win it. |  |
