It’s an early stoppage befitting of Howard Foster.

But really, who cares. He absolutely deserves that. Never seen anything like it in boxing. He just keeps proving people wrong and his chin is as good as anything in boxing today. Amazing result.

Didn't look like he had the power left to take Parker off his feet, incredible chins the both of them. Equally the ref isn't going to allow a fighter to take umpteen punches without defending themselves properly. Hand on heart I thought it was early.

After seeing him in June I gave him very little chance to a guy of Parker’s caliber who has been in with all the best heavyweights (and what most of them) over the last decade.

I thought Parker was lucky the ref didn't step in during the 10th round. I think that's why he did step in maybe a bit early, but looking at the stats, Fab had landed 26 punches in that round, the ref made the correct decision to step in.

Amazing from Fab, especially given Parker's experience.

I just watched these highlights back and they are nowhere near long enough to represent what we saw last night! Can't wait to watch the whole fight back again.

Spitting out the gumshield saved Parker in round 2, I reckon, then it looked like Parker was going to see it out on points without ever really troubling Fabio.

But the moment when I thought "he IS going to win this" was with exactly a minute left in round 9 (1m16s on the highlights^), Fabio on the ropes absorbing a lot without looking really in trouble, and he threw a shortish body shot which forced Parker back and Fabio's head came up with his eyes completely relaxed and determined (if you can be both of those things at once!)

The commentators at various points were saying that Fabio looked more tired than Parker - I never thought that was the case to be honest - Parker looked heavy and cumbersome, both put in great bursts then stood off for a bit to recover, but Fabio's recoveries looked faster and more complete to me, and he hurt Parker for at least three sustained attacks in the fight without ever looking in trouble to me despite Parker having similar dominant attacks that Fabio covered up for.

He's made great steps in his technique and decision making since Huni, hasn't he.

Fantastic news and a riposte to all those who have questioned his promotion by the club.

And just think how much better he might have been if he had taken up boxing much earlier.

No, I was just hoping he'd not get put away early and get pelters. I thought Parker would grind him down by about round 7 or so. Simply because the gap in experience and level was so big.

I don't think we can underestimate how close to a real life Rocky that was victory was. He might not be the most technical boxer, but his heart and his chin are superb. The right uppercut kept getting through and opened Parker up.

The stoppage was a bit early, but it doesn't matter it saved Parker taking more hurt. Ipswich as a town not just the club should be making a huge fuss about this. Sensational.

In context I don't think the stoppage was early, given the battering Parker took at the and of 10, saved by the bell, and then he took 35s of pummelling in 11 (not all accurate I know) from that massive straight right at 1:45 in 11.

With Fabio's power the referee knew Parker was in real danger like Clarke was at the end of their second fight. In a 20th century context, maybe it was early, but not for today.

Way too big for Portman Road!!

Probably not seeings as they had to give loads of tickets away in June.

More that Portman Rd / Ipswich isn’t a venue where they’d get a decent crowd…. Not enough locals interested/ prepared to pay that sort of money. And too out of the way for a lot of boxing fans.
