He did get the ball but he knew what he was doing with the follow through, studs up, on the top of Chuba's foot/ankle.

I don’t think he could have stopped the follow through .His momentum just made the contact inevitable, and his studs weren’t up to any great extent imo

Strongly disagree with that - the images I've seen are all studs into the side of Akpom's ankle and shin.

Really poor challenge.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Exactly. People seem to forget at times you can get the ball and it still be a dangerous challenge.

I though despite him letting too much go, as someone said above letting obvious fouls go, he was at least consistent with that throughout the game

We definitely need to be better at calibrating the ref.

Not sure I'd agree that he was consistent though. He let a lot go at times but also blew up for some very soft free kicks as well. Not an easy ref to get a read on.

Their players didn't complain about it though

No they didn't and the Ref allowed this sort of challenge to go on all game and rightly so , i hope other officials take note for far too long players earning free kicks by falling over has been deemed by TV pundits to be ok .

I think they were trying to let the game flow, which is laudable, but there were some clear fouls missed. Far from the worst ref we've had though, in my opinion.

The type of "foul" that is winding me up most at the moment, is when an attacker breathes on the back of a defender, and they fall to the floor and grab the ball, forcing the ref to make a call. Nearly every time they give it to the defender, despite the minimal contact.

I was expecting him to blow up for a foul from Cajuste for the goal.

I still think it's a foul

Not a chance. He takes a heavy touch and runs into Cajuste and throws himself over. Never a foul.

Not sure I have seen the ref get hit by the ball (and near misses) so many times in a game.

Missed a defo penatly shout

Pretty sure Nunez had someone swing at his face/head but only a yellow given?
