Don’t necessarily need to to be fair.

They’ll have their sticky spell at some point though, everyone does.

Just beat them twice. Simples.

A long way to go as yet. They have been very consistent so far, though. I wouldn't be overly surprised if a Prem side took Lampard before the New Year and that could set them back.

Second place is very much there, then we will deal with them in the run in,

Long way to go - their squad depth is not that of a parachute club, legs get tired and the pressure beings to tell then we will see what they are made of.

The only Muff in Town.

Very much like us in 23/24.

Yep, they are flying atm...

If we can get 6pts from them in December, though ?

Doable imo.

They are doing brilliantly and will tale some catching unless we win our game in hand and beat them twice. A very tall order.

The trick though is not to worry about the table or others at all. Just work on what we are doing, build that team, improve and go on a run. Winning is a habit.

It can change. Wednesday were about that far ahead in L1 well into the second half of the season and we caught them quickly - by smashing teams most games and them going off it for the odd game. It can happen.

They remind me a bit of us in 2023/24, they've got a pretty settled squad there and lots of momentum. They are finding ways to get results in games, including late on. I think it'll be us and them top 2 come the end of the season, not too fussed on tbe order.

The December-January period sorts the men out from the boys. Can't help but think of the phrase from 2 years ago "Lucky Ipswich again, don't worry they'll fall away.......Why won't they fall away?". Balls on the other foot now.

We made light work of them last year in the cup, with our (then) second string.

We made light work of them last year in the cup, with our (then) second string.

6 players from our "second string" are now regular starters for us. And the goalscorers that day were Hirst, Jack Clarke (2) and Philogene.

So the omens are good.

Getting them twice in December is quite lucky from their point of view. We'll no doubt spend even more money in January and add some extra quality to get over the line

We play them twice in 23 days in December, two good performances and they will be very catchable.

Work with a few Cov fans, general consensus seems to be they feel they have 7 or 8ish top quality players of the required standard with a few others just below, definite need to spend January and concerns they could struggle if the injuries stack up before then.
