But has the TownTV content really dried up this season?
The TV studio seems out of commission, I'm not sure what went in there last season, but it looks like its been replaced, that's by the by, but there seems to be an awful lot of content that's vanished.
For example, the Coffee Club and the Sunday Stroll thing (Not even sure that's what it was called) but all of the 'features' generally seem to have all but dried up. |  |

They seem to have a window where the match preview stops and there's no half-time show
I have no idea if thats a contractual or liscencing issue or simply because SkySports+ may see less people watching it and it costs more than it brings in?

The coffee club type stuff was a really lovely way for fans to get to know players away from game time and you felt more of a connection with them as you know they’re just ‘people’.
That kind of relatively unscripted stuff was probably more valuable to players and supporters than the club thinks. |  | | |

Actually quite the reverse. When the Sky TV studio is not in use for broadcasters they are using that rather than the more basic old Town TV studio.
However for away matches sometimes it is not practical to use studio over looking pitch when work is going on or similar.
It the first time they have used the pop studio at weekend. They used reception for a night game away once as it was not open unlike afternoons. [Post edited 10 Nov 21:28]

Could it be a fund saver? obviously not going to be something that breaks the bank but with the expense on everything else could it just be a way of saving a few pennies where they can. Not that it's a massive requirement financial wise, but I guess some things do get slightly adjusted along the way? |  |

Yeah. It hasn't existed for a while. Apparently they felt that they don't need it now they have purpose built TV studio and can present night matches pitch side and have option for Saturday 3pms from studio as won't be used by broadcasters. | |

I honestly don't know. You are right tho its definitely different. Even the summer transfers didn't have the same social aspect to them as previous.

I thought the same about PSR, but then had second thoughts and didn’t post. Although the production facilities (infrastructure) don’t count towards PSR, the staff cost do I think. Not saying it is cost savings, but I do think it would add some small cost to PSR calculations. | | | |

A lot of others have discussion at half time, TownTV cuts the mic and we just get 15 minutes of the same screen, normally match stats. Post match there’s nothing (unless I’m missing it?) and the pre match isn’t much to write home about. The commentators aren’t there in person, fine, but it’s often very evident they’re watching the stream. | | | |
