That's the problem, to my mind.
I don't know if any retrospective punishment has previously been enforced (it stands to reason that we might not have heard about it, if it didn't directly impact ITFC), but it clearly doesn't work.
The issue needs immediate stoppages until the offending party is ejected (hardly impossible with the amount of CCTV at stadia these days), or even abandonment/forfeiture if the behaviour continues. | |

I can't see how the authorities can do anything else.
The officiating at Hillsborough in our L1 promotion season showed that such antics can work and, if the authorities just fine offending clubs, there's a risk that those in charge could view the potential gains as being worth the monetary cost. | |
