Things which he said there have already been contradicted a short while later.

Poll: Should Davis have been sent off?

Why? They can be as committed as ever while cashing in some of their chips and allowing new investment to increase the value of their remaining stake.

Truly impaired.

Just noticed that Ed Schwartz is actually also a part of Clara Vista?

So he's technically involved with two organisations now that have ownerships in the club?

Didn't know that. That's good.

So the pension fund is down to about 15% ownership and the 3 lions have dramatically increased their holdings
Clara vista now have 15% too, Phils article said they were also involved in Brightpath 45% last year which is to maintained, does anymore to what level they were involved? If heavily then they're pretty much the biggest owners.

Having known that this as happening in some guise or another for a while, I think his comments, as I wrote them up, are wholly consistent with what's happened.

Quizzed on further changes in the ownership following Bright Path’s investment and with the pension fund likely to divest some of its stake at some point, Schwartz continued: “It’s really interesting, it’s a really good question. There’s always an evolution in the ownership group where certain investors and funds sometimes like to dial-up their investments and others want to dial down."

Could we see the ownership structure become less patient?

Pension fund was always a long-term investment, the PE folk not so.

Time will tell, I suppose, but I think the pension fund and Three Lions continuing to have a significant involvement in the manner they are would suggest there is an aim to stick with how the club has been run up to now since the takeover.

I think more to the point, could the new ownership structure start cashing in its chips by selling assets and canning future projects after the training ground is complete?

Doom mongering, because I don’t know how this structure works and what their aims are.

Phil - i guess the question comes down to is the ownership still as ambitious for the future of the club and Ashton and Schwartz so recently claimed?

The pension fund have taken a profit at the first opportunity!

They've now got 15% of the club, effectively for free.

Not quite sure that's the most valid way of looking at investments.

They’ve done well, invested well at the right time and extracted good value. Subsequent investors may not see such a return unless we become established in the prem.

Private Equity tends to look for an ‘out’ within 5 years in my sector and anywhere from 2 to 5 times return on that investment.

It’s not a long term play for the majority, hence my question if the balance of ownership has tipped away from the long-term aims of a pension fund.

Not being alarmist, just a genuine question as that PE driven ownership changes behaviours where they have invested.

Club is now valued at £350million

https://apple.news/Aki6Gxf1_Q6uUtKaHn7JIBQ

“The Arizona state pension fund that bought Ipswich Town in 2021 has sold a large chunk of its shares in the Suffolk-based club in a deal that values them at more than £350million ($446.9m), a record for a Championship team.

The Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS), via its investment manager ORG, paid about £30million ($40m) for 90 per cent of the then-League One club in April 2021, which was also a record price at the time for a team in England’s third tier.“

They said near the begining it was a 5-7 year project.

That's taken from Brett Johnson's email in the summer. Gather it's actually valued at a fair bit more than that based on the recent transactions.
