Everton is exactly where Delap should’ve gone. Was on a plate for him.

I've always been silly. The rum helps. But I've always been silly. I love it. Night night.

Even if they did drop him out of their squad, there would be plenty of lower Premier League clubs keen to take him.

He’s made a few starts. Their fans are being less than complimentary. Maresca is persevering with him as it looks like he sees him as one for the future. His comments about him this week weren’t exactly a ringing endorsement (along the lines of he’s not found his place in the squad yet, but we’re working hard to try to get him there). There’s a case for saying he’s currently out of his depth, but much like Walle Egeli here they see him as a good prospect and he won’t be going anywhere any time soon.

Really think Everton or Newcastle was so sensible. Teams on the up where he could become a figurehead and fans favourite as new teams adapt to him and his style. At Chelsea he's one of a hundred replaceable cogs and will quickly be forgotten or moved on, which at his age is a shame.

I tbink once Cole Palmer is back in the side, Delap's chances will be less. Yes, I know Cole is #10 and Delap #9, but there are better players at Chelsea that will get the nid. I've watched a few of their games to see how hes doing and for most part he looks ineffectual and frankly, " lost". He should have gone to Newcastle, Everton or even Man Utd , anywhere bar Chelsea.

| Delap back on loan in January? on 16:44 - Dec 4 with 528 views | Vaughan8 | It's an utterly ridiculous claim. If he was to go out on loan, there woukd be plenty of premier league teams who'd have him. Threshold not much of a chance but potentially could get in the england squad for the world cup if he starts scoring a lot. If he came here, there's no chance he'd go. In other words, absolutely no chance he comes here on loan. | | | |

I would say starting 5 times out of the 7 matches he has been available for makes him a very regular starter for them (especially as the two sub appearances were when he first joined them). Whilst (some) Chelsea fans might be very critical, the manager seems to be happy enough with him. Perhaps Maresca recognises it will take a few matches for him to get up to speed returning from injury.

Delap needs to be a big fish in a small pond. He needs to feel like the main man. Doesn’t work so much for him the other way around.
