| Rotation : well who'd of guessed it 07:50 - Dec 8 with 1329 views | cookra | Rotation actually is working!! Yes the results haven't been exactly what we have wanted them to be. However, look at Saturday, Coventry flying high but with key players out and lost. Towns squad is almost 100% fit, with those who are out coming back onto the training field and playing games for U21's. Busy period is upon us, squad depth, fantastic league position and looking strong. McKenna is playing a blinder | |

| Rotation : well who'd of guessed it on 08:21 - Dec 8 with 1052 views | Herbivore | Mate, don't be the positive equivalent of the knee-jerk numpties who make sweeping judgements about Town based on individual results. Great win on Saturday and this period of the season is where we should hopefully reap the benefits of keeping everyone match fit while others could struggle, but it's one game and we can't say off the back of it that rotation has worked. We're still a good few points adrift of the top 2 and a way off Coventry. If we're top 2 and closing Coventry down come February then we can be a bit more sure that rotation has worked for us but even then it'll be where we end up in May that is the litmus test. | |

We’ll obviously be forced into one change with Hirst being suspended. Theres really no excuse for any other changes in my opinion. We look a lot more solid with Taylor next to Matusiwa and the three behind Hirst all played well Saturday. Kipre was also my motm so hoping he keeps he position.

I think even that's putting it kindly We're 4th with 12 points between us and the league leaders. We're 5 points off 2nd and the teams above have all picked up more points over their last 5 games than we have The Coventry result was fantastic but one swallow doesn't make a summer and this season has been largely disappointing so far.

Sorry Ned, I cant help but think you have acquired a liking to the Towen in recent years. I'm a little longer in the tooth here and can appreciate the fantastic league position, squad and manager we have. Expectations have been incredibly high , however, the amount of change the squad has gone through is a massive factor . Seeing it all now coming together with the rotation is something we could have only dreamed of 4-5 seasons a go.

Kipre was a beast on Saturday. Him and O'Shea getting there heads and bodies constantly in front of the Cov players . Seeing Nunez in full flow was amazing too . He is a difference maker

But almost certainly worse off later in the season.

This. Saying that it has worked or failed at this point (depending on how positive or negative you are) is going too soon. We'll find out the answer at the end of the season. Though this current busy spell is a bit of a test of the policy.

We'll never know. We are not on the 2 points per match we were targeting. I think we would be better off without the mass rotation.

| Nice spin on 09:13 - Dec 8 with 751 views | Dyland | Not saying ya wrong ba, but one swallow a summer does not make. Think we were decent on Saturday but rode our luck. Small margins went our way, and some of the more dumbfounding recent performances (first half Hull, most of Oxford game and all of the Blackburn bizarre spectacle) weren't about being on the other end of small margins but rather being slow, pedestrian and shot of any confidence, leadership and cohesion. I suspect that soft underbelly is still there, but we shall see. If we can get the confidence, fire and fight going strong and click into gear, we can make a mess of teams this season and penty of time to cement top two. It's still a big if for me though buh. Not convinced by the mindset in this team. No lack of effort, just seem a bit flakey confidence wise. | |

We'll never know applies both ways. Two conflicting theories: -A- Play your 'best' players all the time and get off to a good start (con: those players get injured and you end up playing a weaker and underprepared team and get reeled back in). -B- Rotate a strong squad from the start of the season, minimising injuries and having everybody prepared for when injuries inevitably do occur (con: get off to a slow start and fall too far behind the leaders). Evidence-wise: 1. We're way behind Coventry 2. We're right up the arse of everybody else 3. We're doing very nicely on minimising injuries 4. Other teams are starting to suffer from lots of injuries 5. Players who would not have been 'best XI' at the start of the season have come through and are doing really well (Taylor, Kipre, Nunez) So point 1. supports approach -A- if you need to finish top and second place is not deemed success. The rest probably support approach -B-. But we'll never know.

| Rotation : well who'd of guessed it on 09:23 - Dec 8 with 717 views | Pinewoodblue | You have to judge in a match by match basis. It worked against Coventry but not against Oxford nor Blackburn. Depth of squad is our biggest asset, not seen anyone comment on it but Coventry had two goal keepers on the bench Saturday. Suggests to me thry could struggle in the weeks ahead. | |

Happy to agree to differ. We have a hugely expensive squad that has so far under performed. Let's hope we see less rotation going forward.

Horses for courses. A Ferrari might be good for getting somewhere quickly, but it isn't much use for towing a caravan. In the modern analysis-heavy era, teams will be tailored to match each specific opponent, so far as possible. We haven't got so much of a quality advantage that our "best team" are going to be able to overpower any and all we come up against. If Stoke don't afford us the space that Coventry did (trusting in their own attacking ability), we aren't going to be able to the same job on them. Will need different keys to unlock the defence.
