For all his defensive strengths has a great eye for a defence splitting pass in the penalty area. When he starts doing it in the opposition box instead he’s going to be unstoppable.

I'm sure that sounded funny in your head.

He was immense today, so many interceptions to stop their attacks and setup ours.

As much as I don't agree with the tone of the OP,'s message, he is giving away far too many balls in front of our box, with some especially poor passing, which should be a concern. Not that I don't appreciate the rest of the work he does, but it is happening on a weekly basis.

I don’t dispute how much he adds defensively but even you must admit he has a habit of setting up the opposition in our penalty area more often than he should. Got away with it today but he keeps doing it.

Would be a shame to undo all the good work he does with these lapses in concentration.

Edit: and it still does sound funny in my head

He looks tired and it has happened in both of our last two matches. Fortunately neither cost us at all. I am sure he will have a little break soon and hopefully be all the better for it. However, I hope we don't miss him because I can't see who replaces him. I would say Humphreys is the most likely to be able to but he hasn't played a single minute and I expect McKenna to play Cajuste with Taylor. Who replaces them though?

It was funny, Stokie has no sense of humour that’s all.

I believe it happened once today and for me that was on Walton, he shouldn't be passing to him when there is literally a man right on him.

Just needs to stop playing silly passes to the keeper he could then be immense.

Tbf to him. The one that almost caused an issue. Davis was it or taylor? Moved just as he was about to pass. Just horrid luck for him tbh.

I said to my boy. One mistimed run by another player makes you go from playing a nice simple pass to looking like a t1t.

a niche perspective

I assume he's talking about from a free kick down the line early second half which led to Stokes main opening where they failed to pick someone out and just ended up with a corner.

Possibly, although passes down the line aren't passes within our penalty area which is what he was referencing.

Unless I am not thinking of the right incident.

That was the main loose ball, not sure if misplaced or not anticipating where Taylor or whoever it was would be.

Either way he was excellent again, covers so much ground.

He made a lazy backwards pass in the second half that could have proved costly. Didn’t lift his head.

That said, he’s rarely less than 8/10 each game and he must be absolutely knackered. Also seems to pick up bookings for innocuous challenges.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

We're flogging him to death and I think its also mentally tiring playing like we do at the back. Morsy did it well for a good while, but then he'd get found out.

Apart from the bad pass... he was amazing.

Matusiwa could do with a rest which he will do soon with the 2 match ban looming.

Mats still needs to work on Morsy's patented half turn and surge. Thing of absolute pressure relieving beauty.
