| Deliveries - shortest acceptable distance? 14:17 - Dec 16 with 897 views | Pendejo | What would you consider too close for the ordering of a delivery? The reason for asking; I was walking the dog and observed a moped delivery driver come out of the Co-op opposite me, get on his moped, ride less than 100m, park and enter the area where I live with a delivery, walking almost as far from his bike as it was from the shop. (Our area is made up of blocks shaped like this [ _ ] with only one way in / out, & pedestrianised) I can think of reasons why this would be acceptable (self isolating etc), the only delivery I usually get is from local Chinese which is half mile each way and I question myself as to whether that's being lazy. | |

| Deliveries - shortest acceptable distance? on 14:55 - Dec 16 with 771 views | Vaughan8 | I'm not excusing it, but sometimes these Uber eats/Deliveroo etc have offers on the app, so unless you get it delivered you don't get them. I think on a Monday, Uber eats has 50% off fruit and veg from various shops, including one which I could walk to in a minute. I've never wanted enough to warrant the additional service charges/Delivery fees. [Post edited 16 Dec 14:55]

| Deliveries - shortest acceptable distance? on 15:17 - Dec 16 with 716 views | Ryorry | I was looking at it from the courier's pov. Surely he wouldn't have mobility issues, & it would have been healthier for both him & the planet, as well as saving costs, for him to have delivered on foot? By the time he'd got his helmet on & parked up, probably quicker too. | |

For years I lived mostly in a flat near Borough tube, 14 floors above & over the road from the awesome Royal Oak pub. Pretty much directly below was a Chinese takeaway, the Double Happy. The direct distance from kitchen to my front door was around 40m. The delivery service was excellent! If only there had been a dumb waiter! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Deliveries - shortest acceptable distance? on 09:41 - Dec 17 with 237 views | tractorboy1978 | A mate of mine told me that his 17 year old son and his girlfriend ordered 2 x bacon butties to be delivered from a Greggs that is a 5 minute walk away. When told he had bread in the cupboard and bacon, butter and sauce in the fridge he said 'ordering is just easier innit'. That is modern 'takeaway culture' in a nutshell. | | | |

The one who brought the food up was annoyingly chatty, you mean? | | | |

If they were ordering a ready meal from the Co op, Netflix and Chilli is more likely! [Post edited 17 Dec 16:43]
