3rd in the table and potentially strongest in Jan market 15:16 - Dec 27 with 2138 viewskizaitfc

Not a bad position to be in!

Some fans seem self entitled to think we should be top, just look at the other two that got relegated we 7 points ahead of them. Look at two of the teams relegated the year before one playing in league 1 and the other sat in 19th.

We are a good transfer window away from setting up an exciting 5 months, let's get behind them!

About that window… any in-the-knowers got any info on who’s going to be this year’s Lewis Travis or Keiefer Moore?

Given the levels of investment, the ambitions of the ownership group(s), the plans to expand the stadium etc, this is the most important transfer window in the history of the club. Will Ashton’s recruitment team pull some rabbits out of the hat?

The most sensible post I have seen for a while. Popped on the 'Wall fanzone yesterday and there was a post saying how shocked they were by the entitled nature of our fans - I could not agree more.
The negativity on this site is awful - the open nastiness towards some players likewise. It's not like they go out to have a bad game
Surely its better to be behind the team and support them rather than the toxic nature.
As my late mum said - if you can't say anything nice, probably best not to say anything at all

Lol they shouldn't have, Phillips had already gone through a terrible West Ham loan before joining us. We were the next natural step.

Sterling is definitely a crackers shout though and I'll be in awe of you if it even gets a mention in gossip columns.

It wouldnt suprise me that much

He wants to stay near family. Ipswich not to far away from London.

No game time at Chelsea. Won't be played. Cant see any London based prem sides wanting him either. If hes to play football itll be champ imo.

Osula off to Frankfurt ain’t he

Sam Surridge would make a lot of sense. Been linked under McKenna before, we obviously have been watching the MLS cause we went for that Derby striker (who looks pretty handy). McKenna sort of striker too.

Been doing a bit of scouting in the US the past year or so, predominately US nationals, but you’d imagine Surridge would be well on the radar.

Sorry to sound entitled, but after spending a lot of money in the previous two transfer windows, I think it’s fair to question why the squad are not performing better with a better points haul. Not as in ‘McKenna out’ but as in ‘we should be doing a lot better’.

I don’t particularly care what other clubs are doing. And after spending so much money, expectations shift.

I do still think that we will go up automatically but the fact still remain that the players are underperforming and should be doing better.

Indeed - we have the most expensive squad in this league (Leicester may have some higher paid players) & either McKenna has recruited poorly or he isn't get as much out of this squad as he should.
Akpom & McAteer look total misfits. Greaves is a £15m Championship bench warmer.
This is an observation, not "entitlement".

That’s sort of where I am.

I’m not unhappy with the league position. But I’m unhappy with the performances. I can count on 1 hand the amount of good performances we’ve had. Our last 4 away games are 2 draws 2 defeats. At some point we have to start putting in consistent performances. Boro are very catchable but not if we continue to play so poorly away from home. Monday is a good place to start.

The OP is contrarian anyway - why are we eagerly waiting a transfer window after the £200m spent in the last 18 months. Surely that’s enough tools for the job? Millwall were having to play a wide player in CM yet have managed just 2 points less than us. We have the same amount of points as Hull who have an actual transfer embargo!

I know we must show relentless positivity but we’re still closer in points to midtable than the automatics. We shouldn’t be desperately waiting for the window.. unless of course we are underperforming after all?

Yeh we liked Tanner Tessman as well who I think has been doing pretty well for Lyon. I wonder why US and US nationals specifically. Interesting.

Great post it’s embarrassing especially when you actually look at the profit we made in last window , 3rd or 4th highest in league I believe, and where we sit half way through season.

Imagine being in bottom 3, or spending huge swathes of past 20 bumbling along going nowhere other than down. Some people really need to get a grip.

You do have to wonder about the happiness of the squad. In no particular order:

Greaves. Big money buy, rarely plays.
Szmodics. Frequently injured, or recovering from injury. Now ill.
Akpom. Barely involved. Probably wondering why he moved here
Jack Clarke. Supersub but probably looking at Sunderland and thinking about what might have been
Harry Clarke. From local hero promotion winner to injured, loaned out, not even on bench.
Mcateer. Being buried under that 12m price tag

We have become what many of us mocked Norwich fans for being when they were in a similar position. They were entitled, calling for the manager's head when they weren't walking the league, berating players that at the time we could only dream of attracting.

We have a really strong squad and in my opinion we're just missing a confident striker who can finish the chances we create. As you say, in a good position.

Respect your opinion but from my point of view it's totally totally insane.

"I think that we will go up automatically but the fact still remain that the players are underperforming and should be doing better."

Can you imagine that sentence at any point in the last 20 years?!!!!!

So you think we'll go up automatically but you're underwhelmed.
