3rd in the table and potentially strongest in Jan market 15:16 - Dec 27 with 4853 viewskizaitfc

Not a bad position to be in!

Some fans seem self entitled to think we should be top, just look at the other two that got relegated we 7 points ahead of them. Look at two of the teams relegated the year before one playing in league 1 and the other sat in 19th.

We are a good transfer window away from setting up an exciting 5 months, let's get behind them!

Poll: Mick in or out? (not a dig at Mick just want to see the overall opinion on here)

You don’t get promoted for topping the expected points table.

Obviously not. I just hoped that the fact we are might make some of those slagging our players off all the time pause for half a second and consider that they might be overreacting at times.

Stop banging on about entitlement it’s exhausting, it’s been a disappointing first half of the season that’s all anyone is saying, it’s very bunched up but we are along way off top spot and second is luckily in touch.

We are currently on for under an 80 point return. Last year you needed 100 odd to go up so we are fortunate the league is what it is.

If that's all people were saying then there wouldn't be so many threads like this challenging the entitled mindset that's creeped into a proportion of our fanbase.

And yes, it has been a disappointing first half of the season. Let's hope we kick on from now. COYB.

You may lol j2. But people lolz when I first mentioned phillips.

Kinda wish I was wrong on that one.

Quite happy to admit I'm at least one who lol'd at you got suggesting Phillips. And I shall tell you for why...

Not played regular football in a while and reports of not training well at West Ham, plus looking pretty dreadful when he did actually play for them all seemed to suggest that he would never be the sort of player McKenna would be after e.g. a name rather than someone to fit a squad.

Still surprised we went for him and not surprised he never really came good for us

No, that's not all anyone is saying unfortunately. You must have a very full ignore list if you think that's all anyone is saying, here or on the terraces.

The anti-support is what is more disappointing and is a mix of entitlement, ignorance and trolling.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

And top of the expected points table. https://footystats.org/england

But apparently we're utterly woeful, rather than just not quite clicking but still in the top 3.

That expected points table is certainly a lot closer to my predicted final league table I knocked up in August. Hull outperforming by +17pts, bonkers.

Town just aren’t ruthless enough, that’s the difference. We need a hungry like a wolf goal b*stard to get angry and gobble up some golz, bring that dynamic to the wider team. It’s an attitude thing, imho. Last time round we did it with an in-it-together team spirit determination, but we’re lacking that currently and we’re lacking Morsy to take it by the scruff of the neck and throttle 3pts out of a game through determination, and bring everyone else up with him.

The most sensible post I have seen for a while. Popped on the 'Wall fanzone yesterday and there was a post saying how shocked they were by the entitled nature of our fans - I could not agree more.
The negativity on this site is awful - the open nastiness towards some players likewise. It's not like they go out to have a bad game
Surely its better to be behind the team and support them rather than the toxic nature.
As my late mum said - if you can't say anything nice, probably best not to say anything at all

They all know who they are , and it’s tiresome game after game .

Negativity breeds Negativity.

What is your source? Mine is whoscored.com the best site for stats out there IMO

FotMob. 38.9. FootyStats have the number similar at 39.

I don’t know who measures the metric of good a chance is regardless, but it also highlights part of the issue with stats, the measurements and reliability.

I hate to name individuals but we're eight goals below XG and our four main culprits are Hirst, Azon, Szmodics and Akpom. We badly need a finisher.

Naturally our two outperforming xG are Philogene and Clarke who play in the same position which says it all.

The recruitment wasn't great and we need to rebalance but there is plenty to be optimistic about. No one is pretending it has gone to plan or that everything is perfect.

Yes, kind of had to in order to make the general point. People are saying we cannot break teams down. I don't think that is true. We are finding it difficult to finish off chances. We need a striker.

I don't dislike any of the players I mentioned. Hirst is going through a rough patch. Azon has been unlucky. Akpom is out of position and Szmodics hasn't had a consistent run. They will all play their part between now and the end of the season.

Truly impaired.
