| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet 17:41 - Jan 1 with 3148 views | cbower | Some decent touches but a bit messy today. Wish he'd drive more at his man as he did for Hirst's header at QPR but he is still learning. One thing though, he is getting into some great positions to slide him in but not getting the ball. It's happened several times recently. | |

| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 18:18 - Jan 1 by Dubtractor | Burns looked a bit of a passenger when he came on this afternoon tbh. And we've all covered our thoughts on McAteer, or at least his contributions to date. Can't see a scenario where we get another RW in, but those in the building need to do a bit more really, if nothing else to ensure that Walle-Egeli gets a rest, or the option of being the impact sub against tired legs. |
Think it says a lot about McAteer that Burns has only just returned from a nasty long-term injury and we're already preferring him coming on instead.

| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 18:55 - Jan 1 by AVJones | I'm going to ask this again - what is his obvious talent and potential? I cannot truly state his standout quality that makes people talk so highly of him. To be seen as having great potential there needs to be that 'special something'. It could be pace, dribbling, ability to beat a man, vision, being a natural goalscorer, showing he has that little bit of extra time that others don't have, power, amazing touch, incredible competitiveness, or something else. I just don't know what it is, and by now I feel it should be obvious even if he only shows it in glimpses and is inconsistent. He seems pretty good at most things, not astonishingly good at any of them. Is it vision? Please help - I want to be a bigger fan of his than I currently am! |
I think he has great vision and while many of the moves don't come off yet, to even see them and try them is extremely exciting as it shows a range of moves, not just switching inside. As another said, he often find a long switch across the park when even from a fan's view it wasn't obvious. Also, he's very strong already and getting stronger, so I think will be a proper hulk in a couple of years. he can use both feet, which is very welcome, especially if he does move towards the centre. He is also extremely eager, seems up for learning and experiencing (evidenced as much by the fact he has made this move as much as what's on the field) and I think you will revisit this post in a year or two and wonder how you didn't see it back then...

| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 18:04 - Jan 1 by Marshalls_Mullet | I don't think he's a winger / wide player. Will end up in No10 or No9 roles. |
I see him more central too. Lots of good things about him. Even won a header today! Plenty of good movement, touches, control and passing. But a bit loose at times and often received the ball with two on him. He’s doing well for a young player (he will of course get stronger physically as he matures) but his time needs managing and we can do so as we have good alternatives.

I very much hope I do ! And I agree with what you see. Perhaps I’m just being greedy, expecting more.
| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 19:50 - Jan 1 with 538 views | BloomBlue | Still young and probably not played in 2 games within 4 days, and with intensity of the Cov game, followed by a deep defending team in the 2nd game. But the best way to learn is play. | | | |

| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 20:37 - Jan 1 with 468 views | ArnieM | In defence of Sindre, I think you have to remember hes only just turned 19yrs of age. He's playing in the English game for the first at that young age and, at Championship level. That's a helluva steep learning curve. He's also got a hefty price tag dropped over his shoulders ( nothing he czn fi about that of course), but we really do need to give him time and space to adapt firstly, before he can develop and grow, because rest assured once he really gets his feet, a PL big boy will swoop down and itll be cheerio good luck. Omari Hutchinson took 2 seasons to get his feet and hes only ever played in the English game to my knowledge, and he was older. I do wonder if we might see Sindre play in his first choice, #10 role before the end of the season, once Wes has got back into the swing of things wide right? | |

| Walle-Egeli a bit quiet on 23:33 - Jan 1 with 357 views | Libero | I’m yet to be convinced that he’s a winger- I think he can play wide right as a forward or inside forward but to be the play who maintains width on that side takes away his goal threat and doesn’t really suit his preferred move of cutting in on that left foot. I appreciate he’s a teenager and maybe he’s being played out there to gain experience and to protect him in a way, but looking at his stature and what I see as his best attributes- I expect him to end up playing as a second striker or even just as an out and out centre forward eventually. | | | |

the only game i’ve really liked what i’ve seen of him is QPR away, he ran at the full back and worried him. he just seems to lose the ball so often, cuts inside to a packed midfield, or ends with a really weak cross that’s no more than 2 feet high. he’s young, he’ll be inconsistent, and that’s on McKenna to spot/manage. i’d like to see Burns starting sooner rather than later out there in place of Walle

Egeli was more involved and effective than Burns today. I think they will probably rotate as the season progresses. He was also free loads of times and for some reason the play wasn't switched to him or by the time it was he was faced with two players defending. Played a lovely reverse ball through to Nunez which split the defence right open. I think he'll end up a 10 but we should be trying to get the ball to him quicker whilst he's playing RW. first paragraph is very true, not sure wes touched it more than twice. that said not sure we got the ball out to the right that often for him to. from memory his best game (IMO) at QPR we did get it to him quickly, so you are definitely on to something there

Something like this, he missed a game through illness a few weeks ago, so I don't know if he's not quite right, or just tired or short of confidence. Anyway that talent we saw in the Autumn hasn't been so obvious recently, as others have suggested hopefully Burns can play now giving him a break to get back to his best or maybe we'll be able to see him in at the no. 10 where I think he'll look happier
