| This is incredible 22:33 - Jan 7 with 3300 views | onceablue | The Labour Party in the latest you gov poll of the 5th of January 2026 are now in 3rd place behind both Reform and the Tories. Kemi has been performing very well of late but this is staggering If the Tory party win the next election it will be the greatest comeback of all time. The Labour Party will need to stop lying and quickly. It’s funny how they claim the interest rates cuts are down to them. The Bank of England had to reduce them otherwise half the population would have had their homes repossessed | | | | |

The three points Labour lost went to the SNP, Liberals and Reform. The next question was 'thinking specifically about your own constituency, if there were a general election held tomorrow and these were the parties standing, which party would you vote for?' and there were completely different results which makes a mockery of the headline. It doesn't show anything other than the public has no interest right now in a hypothetical question on something years away.

I’m sure Labour will make that assumption and they might be right to. I still believe the tories are finished and fully deserve to be. The threat lies with Reform. Starmer and co would be foolish to ignore it.

Yes of course the Tories were a bunch of liars too. As I have said in previous posts Labour in their election campaign were adamant they were going to change Politics for ever no more lies, no more sleaze and have been no better than any previous government to the point that in the latest Poll they are 3rd and Kier Starmer is so unpopularity is untrue. Can I ask you a question If Labour had a 20 point lead in the polls would you think that is a good thing? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think that is true though, whatever one thinks of her or her policies. She has certainly upped her game at PMQs in the last couple of months and has put talk of Jenrick succeeding her on the back burner. This was the Guardian's take on yesterday's PMQs. "It was not a heroic PMQs start to the new year for him, but it went better than his last few performances in 2025." Having said this, she does not seem Prime Ministerial material, but such people are rather thin on the ground these days. [Post edited 8 Jan 8:50]

Labour have been very disappointing but I’d still rather they hold a twenty point lead over the Tories and Reform. So in that scenario, yes I do think that that would be a good thing. I’d much prefer that Labour were less willing to cater for Reform and I would prefer the Greens and Lid Dems to be higher up in the polls. I do think that Stramer should go - he’s a decent man but think he’s more of a liability now to Labour.

They’ve been very disappointing but not useless. They’ve cracked down on water companies pumping pollution into rivers, been more grown-up in improving EU relations, improved worker rights and NHS waiting lists have gone down. So they haven’t been useless - if you want useless wait until traitor and hate-preacher Farage gets into power. Hopefully that’ll never happen.

Net migration is down massively under Labour, they've increased deportations of those who have no right to be here, they've sped up processing of asylum applications, and have started to bring down the use of asylum hotels with a plan to stop using them altogether. On every possible measure they are doing far, far more than the Tories on immigration. And yet this still isn't enough for you. This is why pandering to Reform bellends is a terrible strategy for Labour. It pulls too much focus away from real issues and alienates much of their supporter base and continues to sow social division. And you lot are never happy anyway, you got Brexit and that's been a disaster and you still can't see how wrong you were, now you're blaming immigrants for everything and you're wrong again but you'll never see it.
