Looks like Brum are close to signing Denmark U21 striker August Priske.

He’s 21, 6’4” and has scored 18 goals in 27 matches in the Swedish top flight last season

Sounds like just the sort of player we need.

Should we try and hijack the deal do you think?

I think that's the odd thing about our recruitment really

We're kinda kept around the early twenties onwards with an exception for egeli and hutch previously, but we've not gone in for an u21 striker to develop

He’s one we’ve definitely looked at.

Not for me.People keep talking about signing a striker like it's a formality but it isn't an easy deal to do and I wouldn't flabbergasted if we didn't land one. Yes, we aren't promoted yet and the number one goal is to do what it takes to get there... but ultimately, if you sign someone on a permanent this month then they really need to be someone you think could contribute in the PL next season. If they can't, then you are putting yourself in a tricky situation financially and logistically for next season.

Similar to Walle Egeli, it might take him a while to adjust to the move up from U21 to English second tier football. Can't expect instant results.

I would say he's not quite the player we look for.

Whilst his 'chance conversion' is high, the area he really lacks is 'involvement' and 'chance creation' - two areas that KM absolutely needs the lone striker to be good at.

He's more an old skool 9, not a bad thing as such but not the mould KM currently seems to prefer.

Absolutely, just think back to how poor Hutch was on joining from Chelsea very light weight & so headless, came good in the end though my emphasis is on how long it took him to adjust!

I am not sure of his abilites after seeing him quite a few times. He was cold as ice his first 14-15 months and then burst out in an incredible form for the last 3-4 months. Many of the goals would be described as very lucky and also scored plenty against the poorest teams. Would want to see more of him over a lenghtier period and scoring against better oposition first.
Besides he seems a bit too nice. Not sure how he Will do in a more professionel environmemt.

He is not a target player, not strong enough to keep hold of the ball in the championship that is quite a physical league

Seems like he's just taking the money, although come to think of it we are bullishly assured by Birmingham's owners that they expect to be in the Premier League next season.

They seem to be panicking. Wouldn't surprise me to see half a dozen new recruits in this window. They've already shifted 3 players they signed in the summer and they seem to want to get rid of Kyogo who they spent £10m on 5 months ago too.

Think i read they are currently in the same position today as they were this time in the league season they went down

Yet if we are looking, and not just some people on this board, then it says to me that Azon and Akpom have so far not been what we wanted. If so, that highlights the difficulty in that, at this point now, we want someone to ensure 3rd becomes 1st or 2nd. And, given the notorious winter window difficulties, that someone would probably not be the one we'd pin hopes on were we to make the Prem. I suppose that if that were correct, then we're talking loan or short-term contract.

I would rather go for another dane playing in Sweden; Max Fenger, who is a bit older, more proven, and also more the type of player that would suit our style.

Everyone needs a striker I think we're in the market for more experience which just makes it even harder.
