We've currently got a PPG of 2.67 over the last 6 matches and extrapolated over the rest of the season we get to 100 points. Hull on 88 and Coventry also on 88.

Easy.

Just have to keep this form up, that's all.

It’s amazing form though caveats by the amount of home games where we’ve been much stronger.

You would think this season another 10 wins will get us over the line, more than doable if we can improve our away form slightly.

7 home games left. 11 away, plus FA Cup. If we can get through February relatively unscathed we have a run-in of six at home and six away.

The way our defence is playing and looking so solid… Cajuste starting to purr…. JP and JC doing their thing….Walton commanding so well…. Quite optimistic.

Appreciate 10 wins is unlikely to be accompanied by 9 defeats, but strictly speaking 10 W's only gets us to 80 points, I think it will be a touch higher than that. I'd be surprised if 85 / 86 wasn't enough though.

Will be happy to get to the swansea home match on 28 Feb still within 3 points of second place. I think if we do that, injuries permitting, we'll have probably cracked it. Frankly though i've never understood how fans can be so confident, i expect us to lose pretty much every game!

Thing is, we've already played all of the top 6 away from home. And still have Boro to come to PR. The toughest away games look like Watford, Stoke, Blunts and Noj. Games like WBA away that looked like it would be tough in the run in, now don't look anywhere near as tough.
The home form is so good, and the squad depth so strong, it's not pie in the sky to think we win all remaining 8 home games, i.e. 24 points. needing 16 points from 11 away games, none of which are in the current top 6, to reach 90 points. Easy peasy.

Don't disagree with any of that (other than the easy bit), we're the best team in the league and I'd back us to go up. I just think it'll be a little more than 80 points.

Football can change so quickly at the wrong times.

Thinking back to that tackle on clarke last night. That could have been a season ender. Nunez down with his ankle.

The 50 50 dual azor went into..

Thankfully fingers crossed with nunez of course but they all came through ok.. but we were probably cms away from some potential season defining injuries.

true, but the same is true for any of our competitors - and we have the best squad depth of anyone. Guess that's where luck comes in.

I would love us to keep up a cup run. I don't really buy the either / or thing, we've got good squad and they're good games for keeping people fresh. McKenna will manage the minutes.

Beat Wrexham, get a nice home draw, then we're in the last 8...

Though those away games back to back within 3 days against Coventry (runaway league leaders) and Millwall (who are 5 and were 2 points behind us at the time) and we picked up 4 points without conceding.

So only 40 points from there with 19 games to go. It sounds easy when I write it but...

Yes, we will have some dodgy individual results but the key is not to go on a bad run, I am fairly confident Boro, Hull and Millwall et al will all have a bad spell between here and the end of the season, just like a few of the high placed sides at Christmas. An important couple of home results for Cov but I still think they will have their ups and downs a well.

Worth remembering 98 points would have only been enough for third last year, so we got likely got away with a poor start to some degree, unless of course we actually do something stupid second half of the season and keep up this form. I think Leeds and Burnley were 2.3PPG second half of last season.
