I really don't see what Egeli brings to this team. 15:50 - Jan 24 with 947 viewsBlaggers12

What a terrible half of football, really sloppy defending for both goals, but I can't work out anything positive Egeli does...how many goal contributions has he had this season?

Been dreadful today. Taken all momentum out of our attacks when he's received the ball.

Ultimately though that is a shocking team performance. Not just him.

The way he lost the ball for their 2nd goal was playground stuff.

He’s young and needs time but why on earth he continues to get selected on the right is unbelievable

Either change him inside or pull him off at HT. Offering nothing whatsoever.

Mind you, that could be said of most of them today.

So far, he's been a massive disappointment for me.

Highly doubt you are allowed to say this though, likely deemed negative, even though its true

If he was a town academy lad id probably be saying send him on loan.

He wouldn’t be in the team if he was.

See also last season's "I really don't see what Philogene/JClarke brings to the team' posts from multiple users. The lad is 19, for crying out loud.

Take a calculated risk on the 36 year old experienced pro, and he'll be solid, but won't play many games and has already past his development ceiling.

Bring in a young attacking player required to be quick on their feet and you'll get flashes of brilliance and good fitness, mixed with poor decision making and inconsistent form.

This has been the status quo for decades in the modern game.

He's a young player he's gonna be up and down, that said had our best chance. Not sure he's really suited to away games at the like of Bramall Lane I'd get Burns on at HT.

I was really surprised to see him start, this wasn't the game for him. He's getting it to feet constantly with no decent options and he hasn't got enough to beat his man. It really needed Burns or McAteer to stretch them in behind.

Wes has shown how we’re much more dangerous when we’re more direct. Di Dre’s not having an impact at all this season is he? He’s one for the future and you’d normally send a player like him out on loan. We’ve talked a bit about what to do with him on threads recently. I think he needs a bit of a spell not starting, just to take the pressure off a bit.

I dont think anyone is saying bin him off. But we are chasing 2nd place. We dont have the luxury of developing a player at the moment.

You didn't see the great save from his right foot then which would have put us in front.

Not sure why he wasn't sent out on loan to gain experience instead of getting an automatic starting place.

It may not be his fault as he keeps being played on the right and he has no right foot!
His only option then is to cut back to his left foot which is so predictable.

It means that we have to focus our attack on the left side only for most of the year.

It was a poorly connected shot. You dont get the baloon swiped effect if its a clean hit.

Then play him sparingly, minutes here and there...oh no, we spaffed £17m on him, so he has to play!

I very much did see that.

It was a poor touch and then scuffed it off the ground, Burns likely drills that low and hard into bottom corner.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

More like we don't have a choice. Burns is returning from injury and McAteer is even more of a dud.

Its not my money, but i'm actually hurt/embarrassed that we have spent nearly £30m on that right hand side, and by a mile our best player in the position is a 50k L1 signing.
What on earth has the recruitment team been doing
